Cee Bailey and Buck dash shelf?
« on: October 25, 2012, 02:24:29 pm »
can anyone provide any feedback on the use of Larry's dash shelf with a Cee Bailey windscreen? Looking at CB's website, it looks like the shield comes back at a rather flat angle and I am wondering if this cuts down clearance between the shield and the shelf and would affect the ability to mount items like a GPS on the shelf

thanks in advance,

I never used Larry's shelf on my C10's. But I have a feeling that you would see it plain as day with the Cee bailey's, when looking front on at the bike. This is where a Rifle shield would probably hide the shelf and wires (etc) that would be hanging around up there. I tend to like cleaner looks. Just my two cents. But hopefully other folks might have better input and experience for you.

There are no issues with the Cee Bailey and my shelf. Bob is right about the front showing through the windshield, which the Rifle conceals. The rifle also has the advantage of changing heights at reasonable cost.

Some owners have masked the inside of the lower area to the contour of the black border of the stock shield, but higher, and then painted the backside black.  HTH.

BTW, I am going to a once a year production run of the C-10 shelves and am taking reservations for delivery toward the end of the year. If you are interested in my shelf, send me a PM ( to reserve a shelf. This the only way I can keep the cost reasonable as the volumes are not as large for the old girl as in the past.

Not that I have to back Larry up since he is the one that makes the shelf, but when I purchased a shelf from him I had a CB shield.  There were no issues with installation, just follow the directions.  I now have a Rifle, and installation was just as easy.
