Where the heck do I find heat deflectors?
« on: September 04, 2011, 09:46:50 pm »
Been googling it and having trouble finding heat deflectors for the bike. I would like to know what they look like and such and have an option to buy em at some point. Thanks

Couple of choices...Baker Built Air Wings (adjustable deflectors) and Brian's (2Fast) heat shields. These mount between the tank and the inner fairings to deflect the heat away from you. I think he makes them in batches so I don't know if he has them right now. Drop him a PM.

And second runner up is the frugal ribbed vinyl mat material  attached under the tank to the frame and the two lower screws on the inner fairing.

Maybe you could just look in the C10 farkle directory at the top of the page! I have a feeling heat shields may be listed there.  ;)

No pics of the ribbed vinyl heat deflectors after reviewing my photos.
 Will remedy soon.

OK after performing the winterization of the C10 (Noooo  :32: not putting it away..... getting it ready for winter riding as in heat shield removal and re install of the fairing extenders)
I read 10 years ago a post by Mark Cipriano about using this method.
No way as nice a 2Fast's formed heat shields, an alternative.
Took photos of the frugal vinyl ribed vinyl heat shields, attached by the two lower inner fairing screws and at three points along the frame using tie wire:
