Installation of Trunk/Top Box on a ZG1000
« on: September 15, 2017, 02:28:05 am »
I bought a AutoInBox trunk from Amazon and can't seem to make the universal brackets fit.  Would anyone that has mounted a Universal box, please post some close-ups of your installations so I can get some ideas.  If you know of a Universal bracket (new or used) that isn't too expensive, I'd love to hear about it.

Here is the trunk I purchased from Amazon

Dave, I went thru this same thing a few years ago. I ended up building a custom bracket for mine that bolted to the back rest bolts and the rear deck bolts. But I sold it with the box a year or so ago.

Dave,  I made my own, out of a piece of 1/4" alum plate.  Been on there for about 10 years now.

Hey Dave.

Hopefully you've got that trunk mounted by now but...

I have a Ronnie Lyons rear trunk mount. Bought it from a guy along with some other stuff. It's a little heavy but works real well. A long time out of production. The guy I bought it from reinforced it with additional sheet metal. It's bullet proof now.

If you came up with something already, post some pics.

There are pictures in the Tech area. Might help give you an idea on what to do about your bike.

Dave - please post pics of completed bike (with saddlebags).

Looks like that trunk may be a fair match to the existing bags.
