I just picked up a set of highway pegs from another member and was hoping to install them before a weekend trip I have planned in a couple of weeks.

If I understand correctly (haven't read through the install instructions) these replace the engine mount bolts. The thing is, I think I recall reading a post from someone that said when they removed one of the engine mounts, the engine shifted a bit in the frame and it was a huge PITA to reinstall the bolt.

I don't want what should be an evening installation project to turn into a weeks-long headache and prevent me from taking my upcoming trip.

Can anyone provide guidance on the issue?

I don't recall having any such issue when I installed mine last year...you could put a scissors or hydraulic jack under the engine and snug it up before starting the process...but, I didn't...

I believe the highway pegs you show replace the lower bolts for the radiator mount, so you shouldn't have any issue with the motor mount bolts.

The front motor mounts are at the front of the motor just below the valve cover. Much too high for highway pegs.

I removed all 4 bolts (1 at a time) to install my front tip over bars. Didn't have any allignment issues. I popped out the old bolt, popped in the new one. That was it.

Gary F is correct. Those pegs mount on the lower radiator mount bolts.

Gary F is correct. Those pegs mount on the lower radiator mount bolts.
Although from the size of those bolts, you'd think they were motor mounts.
