Speedometer gear

Needs some advice it appears that My speedometer gear thing that my cable screws into is squeaking.How would I greese it or do I have to replace the bearing?

Mike,
can you be a bit more specific than "gear thing" please?  you can lube the speedometer cable with some heavy oil, like gear oil.  the cable has threaded caps at both ends, if I recall, so you'll need to be a wee bit more specific on which end of the cable you're talking about too please.

The speedometer drive at the front wheel should be greased at tire change time.

There are no bearings.  Take it off and clean it in solvent of some sorts.  The ring gear comes out but the pinion gear is staked in place with a roll pin.  Clean it all up and grease it or it will fail.
