Ted, are you talking about a pipe that would slip on to the stock headpipes and come into one muffler?
If so would the crossover pipe be cut out and blocked off? I've got lots of pieces laying around I could
possibly construct something like that.

Right now, I'm just trying to see if they are interested in doing it.
And, if so,,, approx what ti would cost!!!

My thought is to ask for a lower pipe like your building, but a slip on.
It would start with 2 Y pipes that the stock Connie head pipes would exactly "Slip Fit" into.
After that it would be similar to the Ontario lower that you use now.
From the 2 Y's it would go back to another Y and then go back to a single muffler. (Except maybe it would exit on the Left side) <sly Grin>   :)

"IF" (that is a big IF) they agree to do it, you would have to work with me/them to explain what we need.
Ok???

Fabulous coating job, Jim. And yeah, the $75 was very reasonable.

Cheers,

Simon

4 into 1 UPDATE!!!!    :) :) :)

Received a reply from Lang Hindle.
I attached my reply to him.

What do ya'll think??

Ride safe, Ted

Hello Lang.
Thank you for the reply. My apologies for the confusion.
We are not in a hurry for this project.

In all honesty, I'm uncertain if we can get enough Members to buy the pipe to make it worth your time.
Our hopes were that your company might have some of the original parts in your warehouse, or under a table somewhere. Or the template of the Ontario pipes you used to build.
NOTE: It is our understanding that your Company used to build pipes under the name of Ontario?

We realized that the cost of a full system might be too expensive for most. The C-10 Concours is no longer in production but many in the Concours Owners Group (COG) still have the C-10's. So we were looking for options.

Because of this, Our thoughts were to build a lower section of pipe to slip fit over Stock Concours head Pipes. One of our Members has already learned how to Modify you Old Ontario Lowers to do this.

We have a person in your area that could supply a bike for fitment.
We can send you an assembled pipe to use for a pattern.
We can send you a unmodified set of your original Ontario Pipes.
I can send photos tomorrow.
We can/will verbally assist in any way we can.

Again, Thank you for the reply, Ted Adcock

Subject: Re: [Fwd: FW: Lower Pipes for Kawasaki Concours. (ZG-1000)]

Good Morning Ted,

First off, let's start with the good stuff. Having a bike to fit to and
design for is our first priority as I don't design pipes without final
fitment to the motorcycle. As far as our jigs goes for that model, I can't
really look at them until I get back from winter vacation the first week
of April. I do know that we made a slip-on and I am not sure what full
head pipe you are using. Usually we take pipes that fit the motorcycle
perfectly and make jigs from them. If you are willing to ship pieces to
us, we can jig and copy them which will save some design time. However we
still like to fit to a motorcycle.

It is difficult to estimate cost so early in the project. However, I am
certain we can produce something within a reasonable budget. We are known
for a quality product at a reasonable price.

Sincerely,

Lang Hindle

Great work, Ted. I had a feeling Lang would eventually get back to you -- I have friends who have dealt directly with him and they say he's a good guy.

As before, I am available to help with this project. The Hindle shop is about an hour from my house, and the ride there is always pleasureable.

Cheers,

Simon

Hello Simon. Lange seemed like a decent guy. He got back with me on a couple of notes to clarify things. Eventually he said that he didn't want to take on the project.
He wanted to develope a new pipe, not just make copies of what we have. Starting price was about $1000 per set, plus approx $1000 development costs.
He did look at what we(Jim) had and made some suggestions. Bigger head pipes, shorter center section. All of which are more than we wanted to do. We were just wanting him to make us copies of what Jim has built, as we knew a complete set would be too expensive.

NOTE: On my set it happens that my head pipes are almost exactly the diameter he suggested (1 1/2"). Not sure how we could shorten the mid section with our plastic the way it is....

I guess it's back to the drawing board.

Ted:

I read Lange's reply to you and got my hopes up.  But after your latest info, I'm back to less than normal.  I'm just glad someone had the tooling and time to develop a set, great job Jim.

Thanks for the followup, Ted.

Yowser, that sure sounds like a chunk of change to get that project rolling.

Well, you guys sure tried. Thanks for your efforts.
