Stock windshield height?
« on: May 19, 2014, 12:48:04 am »
My bike came with a Rifle system and what might be the OEM windshield in a bag. Can someone measure a known OEM shield and tell me how far it is from the bottom of the black stripe to the top edge? I run a CeeBailey now and while it's great for winter, I'm thinking about cutting the spare one down for a summer shield and just wondering if it's still the original height. Thanks in advance!

18.5" from bottom edge to top edge.  If you decide to discard the stock shield, you can toss it my way.

Ron,

The OEM windscreen has that curl at the top of the screen, and (usually) has
the "Concours" insignia at the bottom.  Just cutting off that curl at the top
will give cleaner (not turbulent) air.  Depending on your height, it might be all
you need to make a summer screen.  The OEM buffeted my head quite nicely.

Now that I have a Madstad, my plans to cut down the OEM turned moot.   ;D

Thanks guys. Good info, both. I have thought about this  before, but when I went from the Rifle system to the CeeBailey, it got a little hotter back there.  Thanks!   :beerchug:
