Top-rack for C10...Help me find it again!
« on: February 25, 2013, 01:16:46 am »
This summer I had identified a rack for my 1992 Concours that I put in my "Favorites" listing...computer snafu erased the listing and now I can't find it. It's not listed in the Farkle Directory either. The rack, if I am remembering correctly, was a black, anodized aluminum rack that fit directly onto the Concours after removing the base plate. It was very well built and looked liked it was milled from 1 piece of aluminum...not stamped, and not affiliated with any popular rack or top box manufacturer.  I want to do some work on my Concours this winter and put this rack on.
Any help identifying who the manufacturer is would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like Phil's rack for the C-14... did he ever make them for the C-10?

Anyway here is his site: http://www.philsfarkels.com

I always had issues with my "favorites" or "bookmarks" too. If your browser supports it, get the Xmarks bookmark sync add-on and use it on all your PCs. Your bookmarks are always the same on each computer, and if your computer dies or you get a new one, you just install it to the new PC and let it sync. I use Firefox on everything and I haven't lost a bookmark in years.

There were only two generally available racks with a design of which you describe. One is still available, through Sampson Sport Touring.

Their site is down so I can't link to their rack right now.

The other was made by Motorcycle Expedition Outfitters and sold under both "Top of the Line" and CBT Imports. It was available from CBT Imports and California Sport Touring. They made a single flat rack but with different adapters for different bikes, one of them for the connie.

Here is a pic.
