The older set got replaced when I broke one of the lower ones, and then added highway pegs.

Too easy to snag either the upper or lower and I worried about tearing them up.  Plus the stock foot scoops work well to rest my legs on when using the highway pegs.

The 2nd set brings in a LOT more air - I believe due to sticking further out from the fairing and the double bend.

Here are some pics right after getting the bits powder coated - everythings all clean and neat.  (didn't stay that way for long).

Thanks, Stan! I'm finally gonna try to make these. If I remember correctly, you also had a sketch showing dimensions for the 2nd version. Do you still have that available too? Yeah, I know, I ask for a lot!

I cannot find the jpg you mention.  It was a generic diagram from another COGger that I used to end up with what I did in the 2 diff't sets.

The materials are common hardware items.  Corner brackets, a bit of flat stock, stainless hardware, rubber washers (gives the 'hinge' tension to hold the wings where you set them) and Lexan.  Dimension of lexan pieces to follow.  I just eyeballed the angle cut for clearance from the fairing when in closed position.

Here's a pic of a 'manual' CAD drawing I just did:  (Its all the latest rage for engineering I'm told)   :)

Hopefully you can read it - if not try saving it and viewing in W's Photo Viewer and zooming in.

Or I would be happy to email you or anyone else the full sized JPG, just PM me your email addy.

That will work, Stan. Thanks again! I'm able to make it out on my iPad so it should be fine on the PC.

That style of shield really helps in the summer heat, you'll like 'em Eddie. They also help with rain and cold, but summer is where they shine.

That's the one I was thinking of. Although I did like the "manual CAD" thing!
