Wings/Deflectors -- what are these for?
« on: October 07, 2011, 05:10:45 pm »
My '93 came with some adjustable wings or deflectors, and I cannot figure out when I would ever want to use them.  I am attaching some pictures.  they are made of plexiglass or something similar, and they are mounted on a movable arm, one on each side of the top fairing.  Anyone here recognize these?
I have learned so much from the mistakes I have made.  1993 Concours, and three 1980-81 KZ750s.

They look like Baker air wings. They are to direct air. Push them to scoop air towards the rider compartment on a warm day for cooling comfort. In the cold weather or wet, close them so the air will flow away from the rider for warmer comfort.

Well I will likely never use them here in the SF bay area.  It never gets too hot or too cold.  Guess I will remove them and put them on the Emporium.
