Accessory retailers
« on: August 31, 2011, 11:17:39 am »
Hi, folks. I have a new 2011 Connie and I'm looking for a few farkles: passenger peg-lowering, a helmet lock, and a fixed GPS mount. I've used the search engine on the forum to get some great information, but many solutions are not yet available for the 2011. (Like Larry's peg lowering, for example.) Other products are especially high priced, like those at Twisted Throttle. (Their peg lowing kit is a two part package, with each part being about the same price as the complete solution everywhere else.) The one company that offered great solutions for all three needs is "Projekt D". They have an inexpensive and well made peg lowering system, an adjustable, strong and inexpensive GPS mount, and a two helmet lock that requires more than losening two license plate screws to release both helmets. Unfortunately, "Projekt-D" appears to be a one-man shop in Europe, and he's on vacation for a few more weeks. (It must be nice to take a month off!) Between the long vacation, slow processing, and very long shipping times it's likely to be five or six weeks before my better half can have the lowered pegs she needs to enjoy a long ride. By that time we'll be out of picnic weather and into our nine month rainy season, so I'm hoping for a better idea. Any help very much appreciated.

Are there any US retailers that inventory "Projekt D" products? Any other solutions of similar quality and price? Other ideas?

Thank you.

Whaler

p.s  I tried using "Projekt D", but the search engine will not allow "D" to stand alone, and "projekt" returned a lot of information that wasn't helpful. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

The Peg Lowere's I believe are the same from 08 to 12 and beyond as it's the same bike frame wise...

As for farkle vendors, Projekt D is ok, but there are others,  for the GPS mount I use a techmount myself that i got from Murphskits (he even gives you the correct bolts if you have risers etc)

but for vendors, if you go to the "accessories" subsection of this board, the first post is a Farkle Vendor directory
You only need two tools in life – WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn’t move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn’t move and does, use the duct tape.

Thanks, guys. I'll look.

I thought the same thing about the passenger peg lowering kit, but Larry's website warns, in big bold letters, that the 2010 passenger peg lowering kits do NOT fit the 2011. I wondered if the exhaust was different, so the pegs could not be lowered as far? The pictures show the lower pegs very close to the can.

How about looking in the Farkle Vendor Directory in the C14 accessory section.

ProjektD & Techmount are two good places for a fixed GPS mount.
Motorcycle Larry & MFW Vario offer passenger foot-pegs.
And a Helmet Guardian can be found at vendors  sites listed like Premier.

All can be found either in the Farkle Vendor directory or in one of the vendors sites listed in their directory. Hope it helps!
