Alaskan Butt pad..shot hair or long hair ?
« on: April 27, 2012, 12:20:01 pm »
Haven't been on in awhile and enjoyed seeing some familiar names  ^-^

Question: I see a lot of good things on the Alaskan butt pad but couldn't find much on which size ?
I have a Rick Mayer but the size is close to the stocker. The real issue is the wife isn't as comfortable after losing 60 lbs.
I'm thinking she slides around a little more and the seat rubs inside her legs  ;D. How has your passenger liked the Alaskan ?

The next step would be to have the seat reworked ..an option but thought I'd start here.

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

Bob - You can either wing it and try the stock 14 seat butt pad size or send a paper template of your seat to Alaska leather. I did this for my 07' Street Glide with a custom Corbin and it fit perfect. I happened to luck out and this butt pad also fit perfect on my C14. Barb and the rest of the folks are really helpful so a phone call to discuss your needs may be an option.
Even though the Corbin passenger seat is not broken in yet my wife thought the comfort level improved considerably with the addition of the butt pad.

Thanks. SHe has us both eating right( won't give up good beer though) and exercising. She does about 3 miles everyday on the treadmill and I still practice the martial arts and ride the other kind of bike also
.But she gets sore on the Connie now so we gotta fix it soon...anything for Mama.

SO I ordered the pillion type 2 and the medium buttpad deluxe , both sheared pads with nose strap. First time out their weekend and both of us thought it was an improvement
I didn't seem to slide forward as much ,I kinda sat in the pocket better. Mama was happier and said it was better , all I noticed was she was happier and we went about 120 mi without a stop or complaint. Worth it all right there . might need a little reshape on the seat but fit the Rick Mayer great.
Someone posted the phrase for the discount ( deadsheep )and it saved about 10 % thanks to whom ever it was.
