All These Threads about Exhausts- Video Update
« on: October 16, 2012, 01:43:36 pm »
They finally got to me. I ordered a 2 Bros carbon fiber slip on from Leclare Powersports today. I listened to a ton of youtube clips and like the way this one sounds, and knowing they have the quieter baffles in case it's too loud, I decided this was the one. Now I get to play the waiting game...

I uploaded some before and after videos to youtube if anyone is interested. I really like the tone this pipe has. Reminds me of the VH 2:1 my wife had on her late Vulcan- nice tone at idle, rips when you crank the throttle, not real loud at cruising speed. At least I can hear the exhaust now while riding at 60, I couldn't hear the stocker at all, more engine than anything.

Nice! Where did you get your rack support? I've never been able to find them. Thanks, Mark.

That rack support is from Givi, I bought it when I got my tour pack. It's very sturdy, bolts right to frame members but required a good bit of plastic to be removed and had some fasteners that were not easy for ham hands to reach.

That's no baffle on the TBR.

I'm more of a defensive riding saves lives type. The loud pipes thing never held any merit for me. This pipe really isn't that loud if you control your right hand, not much louder than the stock pipe on my wife's VStar 1300.

Obviously HH plantation had issues with the loud pipe cruiser people who have to rev their engines at every chance and go WOT from stop light to stop light. I don't ride like that so if you are trying to lump me into that group because I happened to buy a pipe that is louder than stock, then you have it wrong.

Good move, DanL! I have the same TBR slip-on that you have and I agree, the sound is only significantly louder when you want it to be. Also, for general information, I bought the optional power tip but it muffled the sound so much it was similar to stock so I took that back off. I like to hear my motor sing but not so much that it gets on my nerves, and everyone elses, going down the road. This slip-on is great-looking, light, high quality, and sounds just right to my ears.
