Backrest Help
« on: June 06, 2018, 03:33:33 pm »
So I have been agonizing over which backrest to get.

Below is the luggage rack I have, it's an older PCA one which they do not make the back rest for anymore.

I would like the be able to remove the backrest easily when my wife is not riding with me.

Soooo.. I know, opinions vary

AST
$170.00 and 4 bolts
works with current luggage rack
2.5 inches adjustment front to rear
3.5 inches up and down adjustment

Pirates Lair
$435.00
Sexy
Easily removed backrest
Looks like larger surface area = More comfort
Uses Sargent for covering which is what my seat is (Matchy - Matchy)
Does not adjust up or down or fwd and rear

PCA
$305.00
adjusts 1 3/8 fore and aft
I don't like the C14 option on it

I am torn between the AST & the Pirate Lair, obviously big disparity in price...

If I could only find an early PCA Backrest
Thanks

Rick

I have an AST that was on clearance due to the pad cover being a tad crooked. I moved it around and it looks almost perfect. I’ll let it go for what I have in it if you are interested. Email me if you want pix and price.
