Best ear buds?
« on: November 15, 2018, 02:25:41 am »
I use after market in helmet earphones with Pactalk but still have volume issues at high speeds/high winds.  I have a splitter to allow me to use ear buds in addition to the speakers (when needed) but now with a new helmet I can't find buds with a low enough "flat" profile to be comfortable with the helmet on.  Anyone else had this issue or found buds that fit tight spaces?

I have tried a ton of choices. Running a 660Lm and an android with TuneIn/Pandora/Slacker and phone through my G9/G9x depending on the day. Started with cheap Skullcandy and JVC phones and finally after years settled on MEE monitors.

Once I got those I started playing with different bud types and finally settled on triple flanged earbud tips. Gives me sound isolation and good fit. https://smile.amazon.com/ALXCD-Isolate-Silicone-Connector-Earphone/dp/B0776ZHJLV/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1542317647&sr=8-3&keywords=triple+flange+earbud+tips

Under the shoei I found it easier to wear a skull cap. Worked out better than I expected in both summer and winter...and keeps the earbuds in place https://smile.amazon.com/Thermal-Cycling-Running-Motorcycle-Moisture/dp/B01N1IZ6FO/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1542317770&sr=8-6&keywords=motorcycle+beanie  Won't win any awards for looks but I have got so used to the set up I find it hard to ride without any of the components ....and I feel better about keeping my hearing intact.

I don't run helmet speakers anymore because of the crap sound. As freebird6 I run a 660lm with my android but have the old SMH10.
