I still have not gotten a response to my cancellation either from him directly or through PayPal.

I surrender. Looks like I'm not getting my order. I canceled it and went with Slingshot Racing's 2 in risers. I'm bummed. :'( AST risers look awesome.

I got my refund at the end of last week.  No hard feelings though.  A serious motorcycle accident makes life hard in (at least) the short term.  That combined with running your own small business (also hard) must be very challenging.

On 6/614 I ordered a rack and backrest that I want to use with a new GIVI trunk for a trip I'm starting on 7/5. Have not heard a word from Ryan. Thinking about cancelling and ordered from JP Cycle or other firm. Lack of communication on Ryan's part is going to cost him a lot of existing and new customers.

I guess I spoke to soon. Later today Ryan sent me an e-mail stating that my order should arrive on Friday. It was really good to hear from him as I've been in a quandary as to what to do. He has renewed my confidence in Advance Sport Touring and I'm sure that others waiting for their orders will hear from him soon.

I never got a resolution about the defective 3m tape on the brake light.  Was told he'd figure it out and let me know.

I just bought some and cut to fit.

My point is this:  Things happen in life BUT if you're going to run a business at least update your webpage, have someone answer your emails, etc etc.

Lucky for you!
I ordered 5 weeks ago and nothing heard. No product delivered and my emails go unanswered. I reckon "buyer beware" if you're thinking of ordering from AST.
Ryan, if you read this I'll retract my post... just need my $400 order delivered please.
Brendan.

Ordered a Throttlemeister and received order confirmation on 7/26.
Have heard nothing further since then.
Sent an e-mail on 8/2 and asked if the order has shipped, no response to date.
Logged in to their site and looked at recent orders for my account, nothing is listed.
They had a very good price on the item, customer contact is very thin.

I'll chime in here: On Monday I emailed AST asking about the passenger foot peg extenders. He replied within an hour. I wanted to know if he had the extenders in stock and told him I needed them by Thursday (today) at the latest since I am heading out on a trip tomorrow with my SO (I have the Canyon Cage rear bars on my bike and she can't get a good footing on the footpegs). He replied promptly and assured me he'd drop the package off at the PO on his way home that day. The goods showed up yesterday.

That was my first dealing with them and the experience was great.

I have still heard nothing about my order for a Throttlemeister, do not know if it is in stock, do not know if it has shipped, no response at all.
Searched the web and found a phone that said it was AST in Hudson FL, no answer and memory full on the answering device. Have sent multiple e-mails, last two were to cancel order if it has not shipped or to notify of intent to return if received.
The money was pulled via PayPal on 7/26, web site says I would be billed within 24 hours of shipment.
If it is lost in shipment that is fine, if it is out of stock that is fine, the lack of response is unacceptable.
Wish I would have found this thread before placing the order.

The owner of AST is either a selective thief or a moron. Never received parts I paid for July 9th. No response to numerous emails asking about my order. But I received an email asking me to rate the products I purchased. My review honestly stated that I had not received the parts and could not get a response from "customer support". The review was quickly removed from the website. I contacted my credit card provider and I will eventually get my money back.
That is where the moron part comes in. He does not get to keep the money, he just chases away possible customers and gets a bad reputation for his company.

Beware if you are doing business with Ryan.
I have been waiting for a backrest since November and it JUST arrived yesterday after many calls and emails.
I have been waiting for a refund on a V2 taillight since November.
it looks like it was assembled by a 4 year old in a basement.
I now have in my possession a rider peg lowering kit from AST that wont work on my 2014.
I have asked for a return ticket and a refund and never get any replies.
what a joke this guy is... >:(

Before reading anything about AST here, I ordered a set of helmet locks and a V-2 Brake/Blinker/Running light gizmo.  I ordered them December 28.  My credit card was charged immediately.  A couple of days later I received an email stating the parts had been shipped.  The parts arrived in the mail yesterday. I feel lucky.   Everything seemed just as advertised.  I installed the brake light and locks today.  I kind of followed the instructions and installation video and everything is working so far.  I hope he can make good on the orders from everyone else.  Seems like he has some good ideas, but has had trouble with follow through.

Actually, if you do a chargeback, it will really get his attention, because then he won't be able to accept payments on that card type for a while. At least, that's how it worked a few years ago. I did a chargeback in around 2008 and a day after the bank processed it, I got an angry call from the vendor company. I calmly told them had they actually sent me what I ordered or at least have answered their telephone, they wouldn't need to be on the phone now with me. I'm pretty sure their accounting people were upset. Of course, after that happened, they would never do business with me again, but I was ok with that.

Burned Twice by this vendor.....

First time I waited....waited.....no communication.....a few trips without the accessories I odered wondering if the boxes were on my front porch....calling him regularly.....processing a PayPal refund....ordering from other vendors... PLEASE support these other vendors as they are awesome. Especially if everything is relative :D

Second time was because I felt like bad luck and bad timing hurt my fist order. Something about a wreck. I felt bad(?) and odered again. See above - same thing all over.

No publicity is bad publicity - so here's more publicity AST.

Someone know how to start a poll? Did you receive your order vs never receive it vs shipped as stated. Would be a good poll. Then do one for Murph's so we can have some positivity in the mix:-)

My input on AST and Ryan.

I ordered the AST risers on 11/27. They were shipped on 11/28. I received on 12/1. The risers arrived well packed and as advertised. Installed using their instructions with no problems.

I'm lost at the purpose of sharing posts on this forum by multiple folks who are warning fellow COGgers to be aware of AST. Then some just order anyway! and it has been what ? 50/50 at best odds?

I've never been so lucky in business to have the ability to secure the business of half a community even though they are aware of repeated mishaps to their own club members.

When someone blasted Murph and everyone came to Murph's side = awesome. One guy had a bad experience and Murph addressed it HERE! Like a real woman or man would do!

I even offered to help sell AST products at the National when I heard he was out of commission - not even a 'F' you or thank you. My goal was to help and maybe get my hands on my stuff lol.

Best wishes to everyone, even Ryan, got my money back twice. Thanks for accepting PayPal.

I was willing to chance it based on the fact that their risers seem to get the most glowing reviews. When a company has a good product it will usually sell itself, regardless of logistics issues. Many (questionable at best) items that get sold on e-bay are proof of that. If a problem occurs, you can always dispute the credit card charge. Not much money involved anyhow.
