Well here in the PNW the low temps are getting cooler again, had to put my ProjektD hand wings back on last night. Man I love these things, having these on to keep the wind off my hands and heated grips sure does keep the hands nice and toasty...  :13:

Here's the link to them if anyone is interested.

Here's some pics of mine...

Yes indeed, put my wind deflectors back on about a week ago.  Starting tomorrow, we'll need the rain proof bubble though.   :-\

Good thing I got one of my main sled engines rebuilt and running last weekend, since it's almost time to park the bike and switch to a real toy!   8)

He Jay, you ever play in the snow?

I put my Motax deflectors back on last week since it's getting cool around here too.

My sleds are ready to go, I pulled the sleds out of the garage, on the trailer, last week to make room for the lawn stuff that got put away.

Well I've never ridden a sled myself but a guy I work with has a couple and keeps telling me I should go up with him and give it a try, it does sound fun for sure. The extent of me playing in the snow since I shattered my leg has been with my wife and kids just going tubing and the other kind of sledding... I sure do miss skiing but my leg just can't do it anymore...  :(

How many sleds do you have Rob?

They do look sweet.

Rotated my clunkier-looking Air-Wings to "block" mode for my early morning commutes. Took me a while to recognize your bike, though, its so, ..... clean  :o

"Rotated"?  Pics?  I've been searching for ideas on making a rotating hand wing deflector that could be left on the bike, and rotated to block air.  Also, it would be nice if it could be set to scoop air towards the hands and rider.

As for ZG's bike, he's a fair weather rider, and he must have an army of gnomes that clean it after every ride for him.   :D

Here ya' go. Cheap phone pics (with finger smudge, no charge) to give you the idea. Blocked (closed), and open from cockpit, front, and close up. Like I said earlier, not clean....

So where did you get them?  The mounting bracket with the pivot point is just what I'm looking for.  The plastic part can be easily replaced with different shapes to make it look 'cleaner'.

Just something to keep in mind with the Baker hand wings. They only use that one mounting (pivot) point. But that was the problem with mine. Any time I tried to move the wings open or closed. They would loosen up and the whole unit dropped. This happened almost every time. I could not tighten the screw anymore for fear of stripping the nut plate. (it was that tight)
I went to the two mounting point fixed wings that Metalbender made for a while. They were secured to the bike and worked at stopping air much better than the bakers. Of course the plastic was bigger on the metal bender units. The advantage of the baker wings is that they can open to pull air in. But I found they worked decent at pulling in air. But nowhere worth the aggravation of having to pull over and tighten the mounting screw every time I moved the position of them. I would just remove the fixed wings in the warmer months. Just something to think about.

Thanks Cap'n,  I'm currently using the Motax ones, and figured I would have to fab my own to get ride time adjustable.  I've heard about the Baker ones, but didn't realize they were adjustable (their website doesn't seem to show that).  However, if they are not durable for the long run, I would not want them.

Do the ProjecktD hand wings work on a 2011 bike?  Their website lists them fitting 08-09.  I thought I read somewhere that one of the changes made to the C14 in 2010 was they raised the mirrors to help deflect wind.  Just wondering if the hand wings would fit on a 2011 and if it'd make a difference.

No, ProjecktD does not make a model that will work on the '10/'11/'12s bikes. Correction, see ZG's post below.  Motax does, see below. They're a French company though and their website is in, you guessed it, French.

Thanks Bob, how are yours holding up?

Great. I have none of the issues Cap'n Bob had with his. I rotate mine at will, many times closed in the morning, open in the afternoon. Smooth, solid pivot. I don't exactly baby mine, including adjustment on-the-fly, and they have performed just fine. Strongly recommend them.

Doesn't look like they'll work with a Cee Baily's Ultra Tour though.

Sorry, my bad Cap'n, I figured you only had the 08/09 ones listed that they've been making for awhile now, the 10+ ones just came out...
