Corbin 70 liter rear trunk arrived!!
« on: April 23, 2015, 06:41:44 pm »
Woohoo, bought me one of those big a$$ 70 liter Corbin rear trunks from LinuxGuyGary, thanks so much Gary, awesome transaction brother, arrived today unscathed from the UPS tossers!
 :great: :beerchug:

Man-o-man is this a big sucker!!  :o

I already ordered up another matching latch/lock to my smuggler trunk from Corbin so that one key will work for both, that should arrive any day...

And I've already been working with Phil (aka Phil's rack) over the past week on some custom rails/sliders he's making for me that will allow the trunk to slide/tilt forward and backward as needed for when running my Corbin smuggler trunk with it or having mama on the back!  :great: :great:

I'm gonna have both Phil's rails/sliders and the new latch/lock ceramic coated black like I did my other latch/lock for my Corbin smuggler.  ;) :)

I also had my painter order up some more ZX14R Passion Red the other day, paint should arrive next week and then they'll spray this beast in matching red...   :great: :great:

Here's a couple pics of this behemoth, I think it actually looks pretty good with the smuggler on, I'm stoked about the extra space now for my upcoming trip to Cortez in June, with the size of this trunk I should be able to put my Copperdawg sportscreen in it to bring along for the day rides at the Nat!  ;D :beerchug:

The gravitational effect that trunk is creating may throw your gauges off. Wow.

HOLY SCHITT!!! That's the Mamma Jamma of trunks! Good looking one at that. best side case match I've seen.
Now for some razzing: Warn us before you post pics after the paint job, I wanna slip on my shades first! You might
consider hanging a safety flag on that beast because of the overhang! Seriously consider putting the stock rear
fender back on, 'cause it's going to catch some nasty road spray.
And make a few bucks off it, hang signs on the side of it saying 'This space for rent'... :great:

I'll probably have the underside of it mylared to protect it from that when I get it back from the painter.  :great: :beerchug:

kinda reminds me of this bro'

creeepy scarey over hang....
I'm sure with the bike on the centerstand, and a quart of "Lazer malt" in the trunkage, you could remove the front tire... if you actually did mechanical work on this biotch.... :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

oh, wait, you still have the OEM tire on front don't ya?  :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

luv ya man, just pullin' yer leg.

when we get to Cortez, we'll see how much I can transfer from my H/F trailer into the Corbin....  :) :) :beerchug: :great: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

oh, this pic is really fun... lets just say it's anatomically correct for a "fat bottomed girl" to go for a ride....

and as FS notes... might be needing this....

If you like it that's all that matters..... But yeah that's quite the overhang. The cost is what kept me away from it. $993 plus you're having it painted. Good luck with it.

I didn't pay $1k for it, I bought it used from Gary on here, hence why I thought I'd give it a try!  :beerchug:

In reality I rarely ever have a trunk mounted, maybe only 2 or 3 times a year, so hence why I liked the idea of this biggen for longer trips and/or mama on the back!  :great:

If you and Mama get caught in a rain storm, just pull over and throw a tarp over the trunk. It will make a dandy tent!

Jay,
I think it might look good painted two-tone...
Black and red... And painted to match the saddlebags.
Red on the sides, black along the bottom, and black on the lid.

Hey... look at it like this guys...
For most of us that bring SWMBO'd on long trips, we have to pull a trailer just for her stuff...
(ie; Unigo, etc...)

With this gargantuan trunk, who needs to pull a trailer?

I was thinking the same G, I don't even think a tarp would be needed.  :)

Agreed Kev, first thing mama said when she saw it was "oh, that looks comfy", not even a single mention of what it cost.  :great:

I've been looking at getting a 1600GT or GTL to make her comfy on weekend trips, I think this monster just might do the trick!  ???

Funny you say that bro, I was kinda debating the same, maybe do the bottom and bottom 2" of the sides in a flat black textured paint to match the side case's, still debating though...
