SWEET BABY JEBUS!!!  :-\

In all seriousness....I had issues on my 14 trip, overloading my GIVI 55l.
I'd get a shake in the bars below 35mph.
Took me a few stop to figure out that I had a bit too much weight in the tail end of the trunk, and it
was throwing-off the balance of the front end.
I even stopped at a kawi dealership to get the tire rebalanced and doublechecked.  ::)

Big trunk hold lots of gear, but overloaded big trunk become big a** boat anchor.  :-X

Truly glad you like it.  Had one and hated it.  Learned to hate Corbin because of how they handled my issues.  Had issues with more than I can list but primarily the thing weighed 35 pounds empty on a stressed member designed for what 22 pounds total.  That being said we all have our own needs and desires so it only thing that matters is it works for you.  Congratulations.

I have one of these, 30K miles on it.
If you decide to spray the bottom of the trunk use a undercoat paint. the bottom will eventually become very pitted by thrown rocks form the rear tire.
I've not had any issues with my trunk in 30K except for some paint chips from rocks, if you buy from Color Rite the matching touch up stick, it matches very close.

Good Luck with it, you'll fit everything in that trunk I go grocery shopping every week with it.

Update time...  :beerchug:

The trunk is still up at the painters unfortunately but should be done any day now!  >:D

I opted to have the bottom and lower inch or so of the sides and back done in a textured black to help minimize rock chips, everything else on it is being painted matching Kawi Passion Red as my current body work.  :great: :great:

The Corbin latch-n-lock is currently at my coaters getting blacked out in ceramic coating.  :great: :great:

Now for the best part, check this out, I just couldn't wait for the trunk to mount this bad boy and check out the fit and adjust ability... Our very own Phil (aka Phil's Rack) made a custom setup for me and it is absolutely awesome IMO!   :great: :great:

He made these rails that bolt on top of my Phil's Rack (using Phil's Rack for added stability vs the Corbin mounting option directly to the passenger grab rails) and these sliders that bolt on top of the rails, the sliders are angled so that the Corbin trunk will match the same atheistic lines as the oem Kawi side cases. By sliding the sliders forward or backward will allow me to position the Corbin trunk more forward when having mama on the back or more rearward for when I have my Corbin Smuggler trunk on, and as you can see gives me multiple adjustment increments.

The fit and finish of these rails and sliders are absolutely beautiful custom craftsmanship right down to the matching black powder coat.  :great: :great:

Thank you, thank you, thank you Phil!!!  :beerchug: :beerchug: :beerchug: :beerchug: :beerchug:

Someday, someday ... I'm going to mount mine in place of the smuggler
ZG was trying to steal mine ... low life  :a102:
I really don't need it yet , no time for any bike touring , I have a conversion van... I guess I'm not a REAL biker, more of a day  rider  :beerchug:
By the way TJ where do those adjustable mounts go? on  Phil's rack like ZG's ??

I mounted the rails directly to the supports.  Phil had not begun to produce the additional rails Jay also purchased.  He did however combine the two ideas of you look at your rails, you will see they are grooved to allow adjustment, unlike what Jay has.

When I got the Corbin I attempted the move the box forward to move the center of gravity more forward to reduce stress on the bikes supports and wanted the angle adjusted so the backrest was more upright.  I also noticed the box lines didnt match the bag lines so Phil compensated for that with the angle change on the new blocks.  I came up with a crude wooden design and the master Phil perfected things, later making the basic rails that work on all boxes.  Jay combined both for more adjustment.   Jay, be careful using both together.  You do not want the box to far aft as it may stress the bike supports.

Please forgive my rudeness but if you set the Corbin on the bench next to the bike it's likely to stress the supports.  Another opinion where nobody asked.  Does look good though.

I'm just being a D**K and overstating the excess weight issue.

 :whoo:

I just swung by my ceramic coaters place and picked up the new latch-n-lock for this big trunk, he matched it out in the same black ceramic as the latch-n-lock he did for my Corbin smuggler trunk!!  :great: :great:

Sorry guys n gals, too much work at the office today and didn't make it to the painters until late...  :'(

Sneak preview is all ya get for tonight, loosing light and steam...  :truce:

I did go with a textured bottom for rock chips and had it color matched to the bottom part of the side cases, turned out awesome IMO and a nice match!  :great: :great:

Unfortunately, you cropped the photo just enough to exclude the "sky-hook" holding the trunk up.
