My trip starts on the 8th and runs through the 17th. Going there to see a couple of my grand kids and to just get in some ride time with all the new goodies. May take a run over the Rockies if the weather permits to see other family before heading back. going to take the trip in chunks of 300 to 400 miles a day, nice and leisurely.

NICE.  I used the Precision Engineering lowering links so I could keep the center stand.

Don, we did a trip through Idaho to Glacier in Montana just a few weeks ago, and the weather was great, but we could tell it wouldn't be long that snow would be close. Have a great trip, and keep in touch with the rest of us COGGERS!   :motonoises:

Wow, what a nice comprehensive set up. This ought to be summarized and listed in the library as "how to set up a C-14 for touring". Well done. Post pix so the rest of us working stiffs can travel vicariously. Be safe!

Hi Wizard, the bottles hold 30 ounces each so between the two of them I should have plenty of fuel to get me out of a pinch. And as for the trip I will log in periodically to update what is happening and what I see. I have kids in the area I am going and have been keeping me updated on the weather. So we will see if it holds for the next week or so. The only thing that worries me is snow, I am prepared for anything else. Thanks everybody for the input and advise, all much appreciated. Everyone ride safe as we enter autumn, I don't like saying the F word being a bike rider. ;)

Those look good, how do they mount or are they sealed enough to put in saddlebags? I picked up a Honda trail 90 auxiliary fuel tank now figuring how to mount, have the mounting bracket so should work out .   Jerry

The fuel bottles are designed to carry fuel for back backing so they are perfect for this application. I will let you know when my trip is over on the 20th.

ANOTHER POSSIBLE FARKLE: On the other Forum there is a discussion going on about rear Hugger Fenders (to keep the rear shock and electronics' clean).   Topic: rear tire shield and keeping clean
I sent David (the guy that sells them) a note,,,  and asked if he would give COG a better price on a Group Buy..
(Because these things aren't cheap)

I called David and got a recording.
I left a message asking him if would be interested in doing another group Buy Price for COG.
I will let you know what I find out.

If he is in agreement, how many would be interested, and which one (plastic or Carbon Fiber)?

I'll attach a shortcut to the discussion here:

If anyone is interested I could start another Discussion on this Forum??

Ride safe, Ted
