Has anyone heard of or tried his brand of exhaust? I want to shed the weight of the stock exhaust but don't want to be too loud! ? ???

I just ordered one, and it is due to arrive on Friday the 27th.

A lot of folks here have them. From what I've read, they are pretty quiet but with a deeper tone, and when you wind the engine out, they have a nice "bark" to them.

Here's a new photo of mine and couple of sound bites...

Updated photo...  With baffle, I put it in the day after the install because I felt it had a better tone.  It's not real load with or without the baffle.

Without baffle, right after install:
http://kapsphoto.com/Connie/Delkevic_17_Tri_Oval_Carbon.mp3

With baffle after 600 miles or so and on the road (GoPro in open case), initial hard throttle and then a cruise.  That's a skunk I'm talking about at about 50 seconds into the video.  You will hear a nice steady 55 mph cruise at about 1:55 into the video as I thought an upcoming Victory bike looked too much like a Trooper.  When he passes you get a good feel for the volume comparison as the Victory passing totally covers up the C14.  At about 3:00 into the video we both do a light excel at the same time and the Victory is heard about the same volume, even though it's 20 to 30 yards in front.  Jump to about 4:20 seconds and you really get the feel for the tone and highway volume.  I think it's a prefect sound, deep and mean when you want and just loud enough in a cruise.:

Dlwzg14,
I bought my 18" CF shortly after I bought my connie. After 8K I still love the sound of the Delkevic exhaust. For the money you CANNOT beat it! I just couldn't see spending 400+ for a pipe if I didn't have to. Barely noticeable at cruise but really sweet under load in a tunnel!  I have always been a huge fan of the Yoshi pipes, but now I will check to make sure that Delkevic doesn't have a pipe to fit prior to buying a Yoshi.

My pipe arrived this morning. I haven't yet installed it, but looking at it, the quality seems okay. The Carbon Fiber finish isn't that great, but you can only tell by looking at it really closely. I'd say the quality doesn't compare to that of a Yoshimura or V&H, but those pipes cost about twice as much. For the money, I'd say it is a good value.

I'll let you know when I get it installed. It is cold and rainy here in Seattle today (what a surprise!), so it may be a while until I can get that done.

Where did you order from?

I ordered it directly from Delkivic. You can also buy them on ebay, but the shipping was $2 less to get it from Delkivic's website.

:iagree:   I ordered direct as well and spoke to a very nice lady named Sylvia Clearwater.  The number she provided for follow-up was 303-962-2739.

Hi,
Love my 18" oval! Sounds quite, but "throaty" and hints at the power on tap! Tell the girls your a member and they will probably give you 10% off! Pays the shipping! Like some other things in life, sometimes all you have to do is ask! :great:

I installed my Delkivic yesterday. With the mid-pipe and all the hardware, it is a full 24 pounds lighter than the stock potato grenade launcher!

So far I've only run it in the garage, but it is pretty quiet, and as others have said, it has a much deeper, throatier sound to it.

Next up - an ECU re-flash!

Racer, have fun with the Delk. I love the nice mellow, yet authoritative sound they put out. Do yourself a favor and get a heat shield for the mid pipe as that sucker gets mighty hot on yer leg! Also be careful what you put in the right side saddlebag...it gets pretty warm in there....I was delivering some cupcakes and all the frosting melted off!   :41:

There is fix for the decel popping somewhere here. I had read the thread and that's what leaned me towards the 18".
My 18" SS round Delkevic will be here Monday, can't wait to get it installed!

I have the tri oval carbon,  used it for a season now.  It still looks like the day I put it on, and I had Guhl re flash.  Looks great and sounds really nice also. Well worth the money imho.

Well it only took two years but I am glad the C-14 bunch finally took my suggestion(s) to look at and try the Delkevic mufflers. I have been running a Delkevic can for 4+ years. The price and quality can't be beat.

Can you just swap out the muffler without needed to change the fueling map? Doesn't it make the engine run lean if you just change it out? I've always thought you had to have a reflash or aftermarket device (e.g. Power Commander) to swap the exhaust out. Are you guys just changing the muffler out and not modifying the fueling?

Adrexco,
If you only swap the muffler and mid pipe you do NOT need a pcv or re flash.

With our temps here in Oregon in the high 20's, to mid 30's, I noticed this weekend, when starting up my bike, there was a bit of exhaust steam coming from the seam on the front of my Delk, where it meets the carbon.  Very slight, so I would never had noticed the leak when the temp is warmer.  This probably could account for increased temperatures inside my right side bag.   :103:

Mine does the same thing, but once it warms up, the leak stops (the pipe expands when it gets hot, and seals the gap). I doubt if that is why it gets hot inside the bag.

The stock muffler is very heavy, and part of the reason is the insulation that keeps it from transferring heat to the outer casing of the muffler. The Delkivic obviously doesn't have that, which is one reason it is much smaller and lighter.

Received mine yesterday and installed it last night when I got home from work. Sounds awesome with the baffle out! Took me all of 30 minutes if that.
