I got an email from a Twisted Throttle person (possibly a principal) and I'm not sure if the intent was to insult me or what. I know they are unhappy with this thread.

But had they just said, "ok, version 1 was defective and we sold it to you anyway, we'll drop ship the current version immediately", I would have posted something entirely different, wouldn't I.

I have to say I was just about to order quite a few things from these guys. I am glad I saw your post. Looks like I will be placing the order elsewhere.

I have the D1 lights. Put them on myself in 2010. My son has the D2 which he installed last year.  Both sets are excellent. The newer D2 lights are much brighter. Both of us have ordered a lot of stuff from TT.  Never had a problem yet.

I'm glad you got lucky and got good controllers. I got 2 bad ones in the space of a year, the most recent one only lasted a month. Even if yours are perfect, that still means they have a production quality problem.

Sorry to hear of your troubles with twisted throttle. I bought mine from a local bmw dealer but had to phone them after 1 week went by and the dealer ship didnt have my prodict. Dealer called twisted and then called me back in 5 mins. I had my lights in 2 days, Instructional and installation was straight foward. These lights kick serrious A@@

Version... or install three.... and now they work great. Hopefully I finally got a rock solid controller, and will get good service out of them now.
