So SP, how much was it to ship the TopBlocks to you in Canada? I'm in Ontario.

Murph asked for additional $50 (US) to ship them to Canada FedEx ground. I then called FedEx and asked how much they will charge me for brokerage fees, etc. and they said it would be another $55.75 (CAD) based on the declared value (Murph only declares the real value and does not mark as a gift). I then asked Murph to ship them to a friend of mine who lives in Georgia (the US shipping is included in the price).  I convinced my friend to mark the package as gift and declare $50 value as Canada Post does not charge fees for gifts under $59. He did that and shipped it to me thru USPS (not UPS) and paid $ 59.60 (US) for the shipping. I received the package and didn’t have to pay any additional fees. So the final price came to around $635…   I can’t believe I spent so much on tip over protectors...  But I love them  ;)

Do you have to remove the Top-block before you take the fairing off?

To remove the lower black fairing, the Top Block needs to be partially removed.

It's pretty simple to do.  Remove the skate with two screws. It's a great opportunity to clean them anyway. Next remove the front bolt,  loosen the rear bolt, and swing the arm down and out of the way.  This needs to be done on each side, but can be done in a few minutes.

Trust me that when it comes to removing the fairings, the Top Block is the easy part.

as a heads up , you would need to be careful about these "extra long" swingarm sliders because they can actually physically lever your rear tyre off its side when you're leaned over enough.

Has anyone tried the DMV sliders? They are similar to the TopBlock but cheaper and do not require drilling. When I first found them on internet the price on the website was $249 and I ordered right away. I received answer thru the email that they are out of stock and will be available on Feb. 28 and next day the price on the same webside was $499.   
I like the look of the Top Block slightly belter but at the same time I prefer not to drill the cowlings. The DMV slithers will arrive to me (in Canada) about $140 cheaper than TopBlock (and about $60 cheaper than Canyon Cages).I would like to hear different opinions before making a decision. Any input and comment will be appreciated.

This is a weird website. I ordered the engine guards and their response was that they are sending me an email. What is up with that? They didn't take payment or anything...weird

Looking at how far apart the mounting points seem to be on these bars I seriously doubt they will protect any plastic in a tip over. The bars will just bend in and damage the bike/plastics on their own. Unless there is a third mounting point I am not seeing? It certainly looks like there is only two mounting points and then a bolt acting as a swivel hinge so that the bars can be installed without fairing interference. I hope they work out for whoever gets them. I am going to go with the Top Blocks.

That's exactly what I thought: how da heck is this thing gonna take the weight of Ms. Connie?
I had the R&G and they bent on a light drop. Then I put the Canyon--but man what a hassle to take off.

To be honest with u: I was thinking more along the line of putting some kind of engine guard in order to hopefully redirect the engine oscillation now going to the handlebars. I had a trottlebody and valve done...now the engine is smooth as silk but the vibration returned to the handlebar (throttle). I tried everything recommended. I am getting some raisers and I was thinking of putting some gasket material inbetween
.....Thus the idea of these bars...maybe they LL help to  distribute the engine vibration
  that is now sneaking up to the handle.   .... I basically do not like engine guards cause of the stringencies in torquing engine mount bolts. It seems to me, if you attach engine guards to the engine mount bolt, then you would have to re-torque the entire engine mount bolt family everytime...plus, what is the effect of a new sleeves and spacers (typically a part of the engine guard gadgets) on the torque value itself. It must effect that...I suspect

I don't see any real major benefit as far as vibe reduction from bolting on more weight. I would try some different bar ends first. My C14 has very little in the way of vibration and it got reduced even further when I installed a Throttlemeister throttle lock. I also have a set of 1 1/2 inch risers installed.  Don't ask me why cause I have no idea, it just worked. I would not put anything that might compress between the bars and the top tree. You will only end up with loose bars. Have you done the complete engine re-torque procedure? Maybe that would help. Also some different grips may make a huge difference. At what rpm is your vibes really noticeable?

I am waiting for a throttle tamer...

funny thing is my right foot peg used to vibrate prior to the throttle body...that stopped and it shifted to my right hand...

It was my understanding that synchronizing the TB only affects how the engine idles....i.e. no effect at speed. But I may be wrong!! :motonoises:
