REM
Thanks!

I'll look for that part number.

The cables I have do not have KAWi part numbers on them.
I have 1 USB (obvious where that connects)
The Adapter has a large 6 PIN connection, no way does that fit to the C14 connector directly.

The 2 cables I have are that 6PIN connection to a 4 PIN and 6PIN to a 8 Pin. There is no 6 to 6 connector with the kit I got.

The C14 looks to have 2 "Smaller" 6 PIN ports one Black and one White.

When you say Y connector will it be an Adaptor to connect to BOTH the white and black connectors I mentioned at the same time?

That's ok...I can tell you which ones are which. If you have a label maker, it doesn't hurt to put the part numbers on them for future reference.

The 2 cables I have are that 6PIN connection to a 4 PIN and 6PIN to a 8 Pin. There is no 6 to 6 connector with the kit I got.

Ok, they may be different cables than what I have. Part # 57001-1649 is 6pin/8pin, and part # 57001-1688 is 8pin/4pin. These ones will connect to the 2008-2009 C14.

The C14 looks to have 2 "Smaller" 6 PIN ports one Black and one White.

Yup. One connector for the FI ECU & KiPass ECU (White), and another connector for the ABS ECU (Black).

When you say Y connector will it be an Adaptor to connect to BOTH the white and black connectors I mentioned at the same time?

No. The Y cable has a 6pin plug for the KDS adapter end, and on the other end, 4pin and 6pin connectors.

There is also another cable that did not come with the kits but was issued by Kawasaki later on. It is a "Countermeasure Cable" 6pin/6pin that is supposed to be connected to the KDS adapter and left on there at all times. I believe there were some communication issues when monitoring the bike while it was running, and this cable was the cure for that. Part # 57001-1724.

Rem ;D

OK, this all makes sense as the KDS I bought was from someone with a Ninja not a C14 so I wasn't expecting this to be "Easy" to adapt. He offered a Refund if it didn't work so I figured what the hell. But it's been a few weeks for me to get an XP computer so now I'm not sure if he'll be so nice. I think it's just a missing cable. He said he used the 4 PIN cable on the Ninja.

I found all the part numbers you listed from KAWi on-line.
The most expensive $20. So maybe I'll just order instead of waiting for something on ebay. Maybe I'll go for the "Counter Measure" cable just to be safe too?

Thanks Again! I'll be sure to post a status when I find/buy the cables.

Well, I guess that's up to you, but I suggest that you buy the Counter Measure cable as well. You may not even need it...for for $20 or less, I'd buy it just to be safe.

Good luck with it all, and keep us posted once you finally 'connect' and become one with your machine..lol!

GOOD LORD! I have the proper cables now, installed drivers and software.
BUT now I'm getting an Error ECU doesn't match, Update Database.

I don't suppose anyone knows the part numbers for the database? Specifically for 2013+ concourse.

I'm about to smash my computer over this, it has taken so long to try to get this working.

What version is the KDS software you're running?

It should say on the bottom of the main KDS screen when you open it. Version 1.xxxxx,etc.

If it is an older version, it likely won't recognize the 2013 ECU.

Yeah, I think that's the problem. I can't seem to find out how/where do you upgrade the software from?
It's version 3.0.4.
I'm betting that's pretty old since I found on a website a version 3.0.9.4

Soooooo, is there any way to update the software without buying a CD? Kind of sucks that I have all this equipment and can't just update the software?

Yeah, that is the original software version...it is likely too old to recognize the 2013 C14 ECU.

Just hang on a moment and I will send you a PM.

SUCCESS!!!  :))

Thanks Rembrant for all your help through this process.

Momma Kawi needs to make this an easier process for Normal People and not just Kawasaki Technicians.

I hope to now fix my TPSes and will bring the unit to the SW Rally to Share the Wealth so to speak in case anyone needs some Diags done....

Has anyone found a driver to work with Windoze 8.1?  I'd like to get my KDS program working on my new laptop too.

thanks,
Mick
