@JQ

I have a back rest coming. Does the back rest shove the passenger into you? Or is there still room for them to be comfortable?

Here's mine....with the Admore light kit brake/running/turn signals...with the backrest.  Let me know what you think.  I didn't think my wife was going to like the backrest on the trunk, but she loves it.  I also have a Corbin backrest for when we are riding without the trunk.

Depends on what you used to mount it. I used and adjustable PCA rack and have it all the way back. Works fine for me but my daughter is the only one that ever rides back there and she is 5'06" 125lbs. She has no issues and said it was comfy...

How are you guys wiring juice to the case? I ordered the case with a remote lock. There is a quick connect/disconnect plug that is on the bottom of the case, but my SW-MOTECH rack blocks plug.

Haven't yet wired anything.....I don't use it all the time but If I were I would probably use a 4 pin trailer connector for quick disconnect.

Maybe I missed it. Where do you have the Admore mounted? In the trunk? If so, I have the E55 and would be interested in more pictures of the installation.

I had a Admore Lit on a E 470 and received nothing but compliments, Posi Tap 's come with the Kit and very simple to wire . I kept the wire harness under the seat until I had to case on .Ran up the front and plugged in to case with a 90 deg connector, very clean and awesome lights.      www.admorelighting.com (http://www.admorelighting.com)

Here's mine:

I routed the Admore wire through the hole that the tail light uses. I used a Dremel to create a small notch in the tail light assembly, so I could fish the wire back in when not in use.

Old thread, but going to bump it since this is Givi Maxia specific question:

For you guys (or any others) that bought and mounted a Givi Maxia e55 top box, did you find it necessary to upgrade the base rack from OEM to Phils' all metal plate??

I GET that I need to buy the Givi specific plate for the attachment, but want to know if I should or WANT to upgrade the base as well??

Sorry for the old post bump.

If you look in the first pic, you will see the plug for Admore light kit.  My wife and I always use the case.  I originally went with Phil's rack which was not adjustable front to back and this is before he offered the rails for moving the rack back, so at the time went with the Premier Accessories rack that was adjustable.

If you are getting the Givi E55NT MAxia trunk, do yourself a favor and definitely replace the stock rack, you will be glad you did.  Some are also getting the GIVI mounting kit to make it even sturdier, but I didn't do that.  You can go with either Phil's rack with the Givi mounts provided by Phil, or you can go with the PCA rack again with the Givi mounts.  If you do this, you don't need any GIVI supplied rack.  Make sense?

Yes. Got it!
And thank you.
I found the add-on for the monokey plate on Phils's site, which is what I think I'll do.

Any other tips of tricks for the 55??  Planning on Admore lights for sure, maybe a tank pad and liners later.  >:D

I recommend the Givi bike specific mounting plate for no other reason but that it has rear support arms and the kit provides metal braces for the rear subframe

Larry: What is the imprint on the front of the pillion section of your Corbin seat and how do you get something like that done by Corbin?  Looks neat.

The stitched graphic comes with the Corbin seat by default. It does look sharp.

You can ask for it not to be on there, that's what I did...

GR,
If you can swing the funds, the rack upgrade is a no brainer. The stock rack will allow the top case to wiggle and wobble and the stock rack will eventually crack and break. The Phils' rack is the way to go. Plus it makes for a super clean install and looks great when you leave the case at home as well!

I'm using the metal rack from AST (I know some people are having issues with AST service quality!) with the monokey fittings, but it's the same idea as Phil's rack - way more solid than the plastic OEM rack. You need the upgrade because the OEM plastic is not up to par for a box the size of the E55.  With regards to the back rest, my SO prefers riding without because it gives her more space - it is still comfortable because of the back protector in her Rev'it jacket.  I like the monokey fittings to the upgraded metal rack better than the add-on givi template - looks cleaner, even if the givi template is possibly more sturdy.

Good luck.

Got mine and installed it a few days ago (sorry no pics yet!)  :-[

Literally took me five minutes, including oem rack removal, Phil's rack install, and box attachment.  Amazingly easy!

It's a big box (that's what SHE said) but by no means do I think this box is TOO big for the bike.
I relation to the size and width, I think it looks exceptionally proportional.

Got my admore kit in the mail yesterday, and although it's a pricey little bugger, it looks to be well put-together, and includes everything you'll need for a clean install, including posi-locks, routing hooks with adhesive backs, and even a drill bit!  :-\

This is a fine piece of kit, all parts included!  :beerchug:
