Givi V46L - rack options
« on: October 09, 2017, 07:33:46 pm »
I have a V46L on my '08, and when I installed it I bought an E107 top case rack.

Givi is now offering an E107B in addition to the E107.

Has anyone done a side-by-side comparison of the two? I'm getting ready to order a rack for the new V46L I put on my '12 and wanted to get some feedback before doing so.

Thanks!

I answered my own question - sorta.

According to online commentary, the B version is a little wider and deeper to better accommodate bulky items (such as bike covers).

Ordered the B.

When I get it mounted to the trunk I'll take some side by side photos and post them in thread.

I got my '107B in the mail last week and installed it.

The drilling template was a little mangled from shipping. As a result, two of the holes were "close" and the rest...well, Mr. Dremel is your friend. Fortunately, they weren't off by a horrible amount.

I ordered some billet aluminum fender washers and locally sourced larger rubber gaskets along with longer flat-head M6 screws. The resultant increase in surface area will help prevent lid cracking and will provide a larger sealing area. Bought enough to do the rack on my '08 as well.

Pics forthcoming.
