Only one order from over here? Then that would be me?

That's what Ryan said, only one.

I asked him to delay shipping mine until the 28th (pay day next, leaving me breathing room until then) and he very nicely and quickly said sure.

So some will get theirs faster (I was #5 in shipping order) as a result, and I get to put gas in my car at least. Heh.

My order shipped around the 27th/28th, but isn't here yet. I don't think I got tracking information, will check the email again.

Mine we charged to my cc on the 27th and delivered by FedEx on the 31st. Installation is complete. Required minor adjustment maintain the use of the passanger footpegs. The look great and hopefully I will never find out if they function as promised!

I got my small saddlebag guards, they install easy and are very well made. I'm glad I got them.

I have one problem. I want to mount dropped passenger pegs (Motorcycle Larry) and with the way the bottom bracket is made, at least 1/16" or more wider than the peg bracket on each side, it is impossible to tighten down on the peg brackets with the bolt enough to keep the dropped pegs from bouncing around.

Anyone have a solution for this? I'm going to my friend's machine shop tomorrow morning, and if we have to, I'll cut the bracket off the guards and fabricate one that works for the dropped pegs. But then I have to have it powder coated again. Sigh....

Use a washer to make up the difference.

I had the same issue. I used a piece of clear tubing to create a shim inside of the bolt hole of the foot peg. Stopped the movement of the peg and my wife says that it has helped with reducing vibration.

I tried that. The lock nut provided by MCE stripped before it provided enough pressure to pull the ends together and prevent the peg adapter from moving/rattling.

I don't think its the hole through the peg adapter that is the issue, but the side space between it and the stock peg adapter, because the MCE bracket over it has so much space between it and the stock peg bracket.

Is the group buy still available? From all the comments it looks to be a good product and I am interested in buying them for my '08.

There is about to be a group buy on their new "canyon cage" product which is tip over protection that isn't as obtrusive as the "bathroom bars" style if you're interested.  The product isn't quiet finalized, but should be this coming week.

Use a washer to make up the difference.

I tried that. The lock nut provided by MCE stripped before it provided enough pressure to pull the ends together and prevent the peg adapter from moving/rattling.

I switched to .032 washers, so I could get absolutely as close to filling the gaps as possible. I think on one side I had .022 left but I don't have anything that thin.

So I switched bolts and nuts, to heavier duty ones, and torqued it down. And now the dropped passenger pegs are good and firm.

Solved, and thanks for the suggestion because it made me think about how to close the gap as much as possible.

For what it's worth I have the MC bars on my bike and discovered that they saved me from a low side last fall while waxing my bike this spring.  As I was exiting a hairpin turn on PA 125 north of Higgins, PA last fall my bike lost both front and back tire grip causing bad thoughts of what would happen to my beautiful 2010 and me as we slide into the guide rail.  After three seconds of dread the tires hooked up and I was on my way.  At the time I thought it was because I did not panic and kept applying proper counter steer that the bike was saved, but that was not the whole truth.  This spring as I waxed the mid fairing I looked up and noticed that the right bar had a wear mark on it consistent with sliding on it while riding.  So they saved my a** and my beautiful Concours from much pain and costly repairs.

Bmar did you find the skid rash on the front bar or the rear bar ?

I'm a firm believer and I really love the way the small rear guards look on my bike. Once MCE has the new front bar ready, I'm going to get one of those too.

Even if I never get to test them out, your example is proof enough they can save you a lot of hearache.

Thanks!   :beerchug:

It was on the front bar only about half the size of a dime.  Not much, just enough to keep it off the ground.

I love the look of the canyon cages. I also really like the idea of being able to easily mount a highway peg when you want one. I will be adding these to the farkle list for sure. 8)

The new low profile canyon cages are available on their website.  :)

I don't see how to purchase though. I'm guessing they want you to go to a dealer. ???

The group buy on the Canyon Cages (which haven't even begun production yet, so they don't have any to sell) will begin next Monday - 5/7.  They'll be a direct-sell from the manufacturer.  This is for the 2010 models and above, and they'll begin the R&D on the 08-09 models next.
