does anyone have instructions for Kawasaki top box
« on: November 23, 2017, 11:26:57 pm »
I bought a nice red 09 top box off of ebay. Nice box for about half of a new one. Mounting parts were in a box with the top box. Problem is there are no instructions. I downloaded instruction's for a Givi mono mount but there is on paragraph in English with everything else in languages I can't read. Looking at the instructions I have though it says to mount the bikes rear plate and remount it upside down. The pictures doesn't reflect this.

Does any one have a set of instructions for the Kawasaki top box along with required parts?

A search did nothing for me. Could be someone else might have better luck. Thanks, Tim

Don't have instructions.
But I originally mounted mine on the stock plate and used the universal adapter.
No reason to turn the plate over.

I later moved to Phil's rack on mine and I'm glad I did!!!!

Ride safe, Ted

This is my setup. The first is the complete mount. The next is from underneath. The last is with the cover off to see the bolts. I don't have instructions as far as I know either. I will look.

Thanks for the pics Gregg. My instructions show a couple of external brackets that I don't remember seeing on other bikes but I wasn't looking for them either. I could bolt everything together but I want it to be as stable as a couple pieces of plastic can be. Tim

ITMR: sounds like the instructions you have are for the Givi SR-410, it has support braces that can be a pain to attach. The KQR base plate is completely different.

Wouldn't you know it. I went to remove the rear mount and stopped before I completely stripped the bolts. I will get some new ones on order before getting nasty with them. Tim

Stock bolts are really soft and round out easily. Just as bad if not worse than the bolts used on the front calipers which are junk.
