LED Brake Light
« on: September 14, 2010, 08:33:00 pm »
I just installed a LED running/brake light on my C-14 and WOW was I impressed! It is   made by Soundoff Signal and is called the Ghost. it is brighter then the OEM light in   everyway! It flashes 5 times, then goes to a steady light when the brake is activated.   It fit perfectly between the license plate and the light. SMALL AND BRIGHT... perfect.   I got it from http://www.vlslighting.com The light is not posted on the site yet but if   you email them they will send you the info.     I just posted the pictures on my Flickr account. I can't see!  It was even too bright in the picture.  Glad I am not sitting behind you at a light.  Just kidding, looks good.  Photos[/url]

This farkle looks pretty sweet and easy to install.  Nice job by the OP.      The Ghost is here:  http://www.soundoffsignal.com/warnamber/surfacemnt/SM_GHOST_Sgl.htm  This page lists options and part numbers.    You have to order through a 'distributor' like the link Greg provided.  To maybe find one more local to you, call 1.800.338.7337.        :8|:

You almost got it BJ. Soundoff Signal does not have it on their web site as a   searchable item. The item number is correct but wrong pictures. IDKY??? The PDF can be   found here and will be pages 1 and 2   www.soundoffsignal.com/warnamber/Catalog_WarnProd/2010_WarnCat_DDGLts.pdf      I will see If I can add more pictures of it later.

I'm curious.  Why do you cover up you license plate in the pictures?  Many people do this yet  they list all the personal info on face books and forums?  Will a cop send you a ticket?  The plate is displayed publicly.  Just curious.  Maybe I need to stop doing it myself.

You are correct, the info is out there. I just don't like the thought of "handing" it   out. The way I look at it, if they can get your info easier then mine. They will target   you. If you put your info out there, they know you probably put other easy info out   there for them to get. Me, I do what I can. I block and control what I "hand" out. But   yes, You can find out anything about anyone, but stereotypical ASSES that would do   something like steal info are "LAZY"  Have you ever heard of a SLOW burglar? or a Ford   Pinto for a get away car? Do you keep your cash on a necklace?   That's why they call it and IN and OUT job! Quick and easy!    I have had my CC # stolen twice. One time they actually made a card. The bank had an   imprint receipt. It took some time to explain and fix but I guess I look at licence   plates the same way. With all the speed cameras out there, I guess I want to be the one   to "earn the ticket" not someone else. It has been done.    JMHO! :-)

@3greens- I just put pictures up!! I made a very simple bracket. Holes that match up to   the 2 licences plate bolts and of course the the 2 for the light. I actually flipped   the mount for the plate upside down. It really only affects the angle of the p

Oops...here is the link again. I like to save scrolling time. I have also added   pictures of my other LED lights along with my VERY simple GPS mount. Yes there are a   lot of repeats but I was told by my photographer of a brother..."Take a lot of pictures   one is never enough, you can always delete it later."     www.flickr.com/photos/on2wheels/sets/72157624834156851/      http://www.vlslighting.com/  is where I got the BRAKE light.     ALL the others I got from work. They are DOT approved lights for tractor and trailers.   Thanks to my handy dandy Dremel tool I did a little bit of...you know... stuff you do   with a Dremel!!!

Good idea, I thought to order the http://www.corbin.com/kawasaki/kc8trnk.shtml because of the huge capacity + the extra lights in it, but perhaps it's a better idea to place extra brake lights like you did just above the plate (I have blue model 2010).    Thanks for the fantastic pics.     If it would be possible, do you have some pics where you fix the cable itself to the other wires (so the start, not the ending, or vice versa)?    VAN BELLE Jean Marc, info@logocom.be

Just added more LED lights! These are 6 white LEDs inside each of the front turn signals. I also made the LEDs I installed before into turn signals. I also made the licenses plate into LEDs I get a great white glow on the ground at the sides of the bike. I think I might be done with adding LEDs now.......  hmmmmmm  maybe not.....
