LED Digital Flasher Relay
« on: March 01, 2017, 09:16:44 pm »
Hey guys. Have seen where some of you have upgraded to a digital flash relay such as this : https://www.customled.com/products/elfr-1-electronic-led-flasher-relay?gclid=CPaelLumttICFYdLDQodn9AHtA
to stop the hyper flashing when switching to led turn signal bulbs. But this appears to be a 2 wire set-up whereas the C14 (or at least mine-2011) has a 3 wire connector going to the factory relay. Those who have used it seem to have no issues with the exception of turning off the ignition with the 4-way flashers on and the ensuing chaos that appears when turning the ignition back on? Is this a condition of the flasher only having the 2 wires vs 3 wires? Was really hoping to find a compatible plug n play flasher. Any ideas / advice much appreciated.

The 2 wire is plug and play. You can always add a diode if you don't want the light show when you turn the bike off with the 4 ways on.

Thank you for the advise Matt and Jonathan. I had seen the 3 wire units on E-bay/Amazon but wanted to find a plug and play if possible for the 3 wire unit but have had no luck. I did however find a company selling the factory style connectors so I purchased a set and will make my own plug and play unit.  >:D
Thanks again guys !

Gonna Bump this thread for some feedback:

For the guys who purchased products from SuperBrightLEDs:

Assume you bought drop in replacement LED "bulbs" from this site as well as the Flasher Relay?
How are they all working so far?
Do you recommend this product?  Worth the Price?  Good Visibility and functionality??

Thanks!

Ok, no reply from previous posters....so I went ahead and purchased replacement LED clusters for all four Turn Signals, including the aforementioned LED Relay.

I can definitely say, the LED's are AT LEAST 50% brighter than OEM filament bulbs, and the relay is a DIRECT plug and play.
The Relay requires removal of the right hand rear plastic, and I had to zip-tie and velcro the new module to the previous mount.  But connector is the same.
Rear bulbs were a simple replacement with the removal of a single screw and lens cover, and the fronts required
removal of the front fairing to get at the signal housing.
I spent about $50 total with shipping, AND I replaced the LP bulb with an LED version as well.

I'm pleased!
