lifting the tank
« on: April 18, 2013, 10:10:59 pm »
I saw a thread where someone lifted the tank to run the lead thru to the left side for a heated vest. Can someone tell me how to lift the tank without popping all the panels off??

There are studs on each side panel that fit into the tank about halfway up that have to be released before you can lift the tank. You'll have to remove some of the bolts that hold the side panels on so that you can pry out on them enough that the studs pull free of the gromments.

Thanks Fred, made a cup of tea, put the radio on, looked the bike over and figure it out. Looks much better with the lead just out about 3 inches on left side. used the cap to secure it to the black frame rail when not in use.
