Rack Support
« on: April 29, 2013, 08:51:49 pm »
Has anybody ever thought about seeing what it would take to have aluminum rack support arms cast to replace the ultra flexible plastic.  I just cant stand the flexing up and down when loaded going down the road.  I know it seems like a silly @ss thing to be concerned about but have to waste my money somewhere on something.

2012 with a ridiculously heavy trunk on it.  Just to say it one more time I was @#**% by CORBIN!

I was thinking about getting the Givi trunk mount just for its support system.  I have a Coocase, not a Givi but I think I could get it to bolt up somehow.  Would that kind of support do what you need?

The weak link is the flimsy rack :(.  With a proper rack (Phil's or a equivalent) the arms are not really needed and look awful.  I have a Shad 50L and fully loaded needs no supports but a made my own rack similar to Phil's

The GIVI mount may show some promise.  I have spent a lot of time and have done several other things to add support.  All have worked to some extent but not to the level that I want.  Since the Corbin case doesn't use the rack plate it would require a good deal of shade treeing but maybe.  Thanks for the thought and the instructions.

When I had the huge Corbin I looked at the Givi kit but did not have the metal fab skills to make it work.
