Twisted Throttle has discontinued stocking the adapter kit, and SWMotech has an agreement to not ship direct to the USA. If you want this kit and you are in the USA...Order from RDmoto pay in Euro's using PayPal. Cost was less than $45 USD shipped. The link:

Regards,
Rob

Freaking AWESOME, Thanks!!
Bought.

Well, it's been a few weeks, I want to warn anyone from ordering from these guys, I sent 2 inquiries regarding my order- no replies. I paid by CC, I'll make an attempt to call Europe tomorrow and attempt a live request for an update, then it's time to call my CC company and fight for my money back. I never even got an order confirmation or nothing, except the charge on my CC...nice  :(

I called Twisted throttle a few weeks ago & even thou they don't stock the adapter kit anymore they said they can order it. Basically it has to ship to them then they ship to me. They said that once they get it they would charge my credit card. I got an email yesterday saying that they processed my order & charged my card. Got an email today saying that they shipped it to me along with a FedEx tracking number. SO, It looks like if you want one Twisted throttle CAN get it for you. I should have it in a few day's & will post if all is good.  :beerchug:

I've never dealt with those guys but the link says Availability:  14 days.  Looks like it takes two weeks before they get them to ship.  I bought mine from SWMoto directly.

Strange, I got my shipping notice yesterday, yet they still show 3 in stock this morning....don't know what to think of it, but good for anyone who wants to get rid of the plastic POS probably hiding the beauty that is  Phils rack.

Inventory updated to 2 left, gett'em boys while you can...this bracket looks to be easily replicated for much cheaper tha $55 bucks...but I guess your also getting the latch assembly. I've hated my plastic POS since I've had my bike, but it has also always been missing the cover, exposing the ugly honeycomb pattern For all to see. It also needlessly raises the top box an inch or so and adds flexibility/weakness to the system.

I just got my Monolock kit in, Anyone that has this kit did you have to get longer bolts ?. I have a phils rack & the supplied bolts are not long enough to go threw the rack & poke out enough to thread into the nuts or the rear piece. Also the rear small piece with the 3 bolts does not lie flat because of the raised ribs on the rack. Did anyone shim it up with spacers/washers ?. Thanks for any advice

I took a dremel tool with a grinding stone/wheel and took off some aluminum at 2 corners where they meet the ribs milled into Phils rack for the 3-pt latch mechanism. I also took off a bit of the rib to further get it to fit flat. I happened to have 2 slightly longer 1/2" bolts that secured it, it seems quite strong, but have considered drilling a third hole and tap it to fit a bit longer 5/8" long bolt....but it seems really strong, so I might not....I got it to work. I thought about shimming it with 2 washer to raise it above the ribs, but that raises the entire latch and decided against going this route. I'm using the 47L Kawi top case and it actually seems to float about 1/8" above Phils rack, so it didn't want to exacerbate this. I also thought to drill 4 holes to place the pads for the top case to rest on, but Phils rack is a full 1/4in thick aluminum plate and the pads are not long enough to reach through the plate...I could countersink underneath to make it work, but that's a bit more work....meh...?

It looks great though, very glad I was able to get my hands on this kit, the plastic adapter with the missing cover was aesthetically driving me nuts! Again, it also lowers the top case a full inch, also pleasing to the eye, as I normally hate riding with the top case unless absolutely necessary. It without a doubt flexes less and seems more secure. I can also use it with a bungee net to secure a helmet, jacket or whatever....

I didn't want to damage the rack in case I needed to pass it on in the future so picked up some small washers to shim it up.  Also picked up some stainless steel bolts, M6 x 20 (2ea) and M6 x 16 (3ea).   Working on adding the 4 bumpers to the bottom of the Top Case.  Again, I wanted to keep any modifications to the rack at a minimum, I don't always ride with the Top case.  :great:

Good luck.   :beerchug:

Adding the bumpers to the bottom of the top case is certainly the easier way to go, I first thought about water intrusion, but the more I think about it, the more I like the idea...

I got it installed today, I got some longer stainless bolts & cut a little off the front corners of the rear locking piece so it would sit flat. I had some self stick felt circles so I placed them where I wanted them on the rack sticky side up so once I put the trunk on they stuck to the bottom of it. The trunk has no play & locks down solid. It's so nice not having that crappy plastic adapter plate between the rack & trunk. Looks much better too  :beerchug:

Hmmm...Sorry I should have mentioned it did take almost a month from the time I ordered to receive the kit and shipping information was sort of non existent. Good to see TT stocking a few of these again. just being able to eliminate the plastic adapter makes the whole thing feel more secure.

Just got back from a 2200 mile trip to the smokie & blueridge mountains. The kit is awesome & the trunk still has no wobble or play. Wish I bought this kit years ago. Now I will mount the old adapter plate to the garage wall to hang the trunk when not used  :beerchug:

Don't know if I am taking you guys to literally - lol - about mounting the trunk on the wall.

Here are my saddle-bag mounts on the wall (inspired by Zarticus - full disclosure :great:)- and my trunk mount on a shelf/horizontal surface.

BTW - I love this little Versys/Ninja trunk. When I'm not traveling far I leave the saddlebags and huge trunk at home - this holds plenty for a day trip. Well, and for $75 on eBay I couldn't resist. Not sure how much they are normally.... the ad said blemished and I can't find a blem anywhere(!)

I have the same and it works great.

I have an adapter by Phil because I run a Corbin Smuggler, this helps lift the Topcase out of the way so I can open the Smuggler without removing the Topcase.
