Mo-Door opener
« on: May 23, 2018, 12:40:12 pm »
For those looking for an easier way to open the garage door I have solved that issue:

Video demo:
https://youtu.be/SWLFLebJGtU

I could have used their standard setup, but what fun is that? I modified to use my own switch and cover (so my kid can't play with it and for style points. I've used the following parts. I did have to modify the red cover to fit over my button on the sides as it hit until I trimmed it with the dremmel.

Button: https://www.amazon.com/URTONE-Momentary-Stainless-Suitable-Mounting/dp/B01FKXRYVE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1527080322&sr=8-3&keywords=1%2F2+momentary+button
Red cover (needs modified to fit over button without pressing it): https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Doctor-20565-Aircraft-Toggle/dp/B00LSTVFZQ/ref=sr_1_2?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1527080319&sr=1-2&keywords=aircraft+switch+cover
Mo-door. I'd recommend the industrial switch as it may be easier to wire into. I used the simple push button: http://www.mo-door.com/Universal_Switches.html

I just wanted to pass on the knowledge in case anyone is looking to do some modification in the future. Enjoy

Funny..
My house is automated so I can open and close  the Garage Door just by Saying  "Ok Google" or '"Alexa" into my bluetooth headset or into my phone or Amazon Fire Tablet  or Tap's and then the house sends me emails saying the  garage door is open or at dusk it automatically closes

If your not afraid of messing with wiring, I went a different route.  I used the Auto-Switch https://www.ebay.com/itm/AutoSwitch-Motorcycle-Garage-Door-Remote-Activator-AS-7G/362084173048?hash=item544de604f8:g:Jp8AAOxyB9RSzayb , slightly cheaper and just as effective

On a more serious, or at least less frivolous note, I took the easy route for my garage door opener.  My tank bag has a pocket on the side.  I put velcro on the inside of the bag and on the door opener.  I can ride down the road toward my house and just press the side of the tank bag...and the garage door opens.  Simple.

I just keep a standard garage door remote in my glove box.
