SADDLE BAG/ENGINE GAURDS
« on: April 17, 2013, 06:55:35 pm »
I dropped my new concours which is being repaired. With $4,000.00 damage at walking speed I think I need to look into some kind of protection. What are my options and the names of the products so I can price them. Are any of them good looking????????????

Good looking LOL  NO

Which bike?  C10 or C14?

Do not be shocked when this thread is moved to the appropriate area.

Edit,  $4k worth of damage it must be a C14.  A c10 would just be totaled  ;D

I will let someone that knows C14 answer.

I have canyon cages, and like them. Bought from a vendor at less than price charged by manufacturer.

I have the large police McEnterprise bars in front and  bag bars in back. When I hit a deer on the left side it bent back 45 degrees but I am certain it spared my leg! Also their bars front and back make strapping down  for the trailer easier

Canyon Cages from MC Enterprises.

No comparison. Best protection you can get without destroying the look of the bike.

I think Top Blocks look best but Canyon Cages can be a platform for additional Farkles. Such as highway pegs. Some have even altered the rears to be a carrier for additional fuel containers.

I left town shortly after I posted my question about bag/engine guards so I just started reviewing your responses. I'm picking my repaired C1400 up this afternoon.

I know I can't wait too long before making a decision about the bars. The "Top Blocks" look great with a one/two punch of MC Ent. Small in the rear. The post about the MC Canyon Cage being a platform to add forward pegs is awfully attractive even though I bought and installed the forward pegs.

I wish I had the option of seeing those two options (other than pictures) before I make my purchase.

Thanks for all the valuable input, it all makes sense.

If you're interested in the cop style MCE bars, I have a have a set that I'll sell to you cheap. The bars have some scuffs, and the left bar has a small rash that was painted over.
