New Sargent seat
« on: November 27, 2011, 05:21:31 pm »
Well, it seems my butt was custom-designed for use with a Sargent World Sport Performance seat, or maybe it's the other way around. Anyhoo, what matters is that yesterday I picked up my new seat, put it on my bike and went for a short trial run of about 75 miles or so.
Wow! What a huge difference in comfort, and the ergos improved ever-so-slightly for me too. Just enough to make an already great bike even more enjoyable to me. Feels like I could do a 600 mile day, no sweat!
Seems the stock seat pushed/slid my hiney forward to some degree. Enough to make it uncomfortable after 100 miles or about an hour's ride time. With the new Sargent, sliding factor's all gone.
I must say, the padding's stiffer than the stocker's, but still way more comfortable. Which just goes to show that, when it comes to resting your posterior on any surface, softer doesn't necessarily mean better.
My $.02

Stay cool. Ride safe.

I felt crowded on the Sargent for the C14. So I went a different route. But I'm glad it fits you and are happy with it. Sargent does make a quality seat. But like anything else, it won't work and/or fit everyone.
