PCV & Auto Tune Gear Position Calibration values?
« on: September 13, 2011, 09:58:56 pm »
Hi. I own a 2009 ABS black with 15.3K miles.  I have this setup PCV, Auto Tune, BMC filer, Area P Full.  I believe my gear position is not calibrated properly.  Why?  I noticed the 5 or 6 gear are never on need for update, whereas all the others are (minimum).  My current values are:

1 141.449 - 100864      2 100.863 - 72.373       3 72.372 - 55.829
4 55.828 - 46.210         5 46.209 - 39.417         6 39.416 - 35.149

I have contacted Kevin at FuelMoto USA where I purchased the PVC but where not able to help. Can someone with PCV & Auto Tune verify these values?

I assume you know you need a wire from the speedo output to the PCV in order to use gear tables, and you also have to advance the map to include gear tables (click on map tools->Advance Map and then under Fuel Tables select Gear Advanced)

You'll also need to enable the Auto Tune. With a laptop connected to the PCV, look under the Power Commander Tools tab for the configure option and enable the Auto Tune.

Here are the gear calibration values from mine.

1st   156.962  - 142.013
2nd   111.951 - 101.289
3rd   88.591  -  80.154
4th   71.927 - 65.076
5th   60.361  - 54.612
6th  50.082 - 45.313

I've set up my LCD display to show me the gear I'm in, and it works properly with these values. There is a calibration procedure you use to set it up, but it's been a while since I did it, so I'd need to go back and revisit it to refresh my memory on how its done. It should be in the instructions for the PCV. If you need it let me know and I'll dig it out.
