PDM Amplink & Glovebox
« on: February 19, 2019, 11:11:28 am »
As my bike sits torn apart waiting for the PDM Amplink to show up, I am considering ways to have it work with the glovebox to keep it unlocked for 5 minutes after I turn the C14 off. It is my understanding that the power to the glovebox stays hot and the ground wire to the glovebox controls the locking and unlocking normally.
To make it work, I would run a permanent ground to the glovebox and make the positive (+12v) side the control with it coming from the PDM. I would use the ground wire from the bike side of the glovebox harness as the trigger to turn the positive on and off to the glovebox at the PDM. I hope that makes sense.
Any thoughts?
TIA

The PDM Amplink is the newer version of the PDM60.

I installed a small momentary switch to complete the path to ground in a un-seen location, and now I can unlock my glovebox anytime I want to, without having to have the fob with me.

Thanks, I saw that last night when I was searching through old posts. I was thinking a delay would be nice to help if I am sitting at a gas station or to drop my glasses in the glovebox after I turn off the bike while still having a little bit of security later. I know, I know, I am way over thinking it.
