Phils rack with Projeck D Helmet lock? EDIT- It fits fine
« on: April 12, 2012, 05:15:11 pm »
I have Phils rack and tried to add the Project D double helmet lock. Could not get it to fit. Anyone had any luck with this? Maybe using longer bolts?

TIA

SORRY! I missed the bolts included with the lock.  :-[

Fits great. Mods please delete!

Same setup here, no problems at all but I did go with longer black bolts when I installed Phils rack, so maybe that's why...

I have the same setup also. I bought some new bolts from ACE because I didn't like the cap ones that it came with. Also, those spacers (washers) aren't absolutely necessary with Phils rack...

Yep, worked out fine. I was being stupid and trying to get it all together using the stock bolts. Just was not working and I was getting frustrated. In the time I came out of the garage to make this post, I noticed the small baggie that came with the lock. I feel kinda stupid :-[

OregonLAN, you wouldn't happen to have a link for the bolts you bought do you? I'm not loving the look of the bolt heads either.

Well, Ace didn't have many choices in metric stainless, so I ended up purchasing some countersink bolts instead of button heads. They are completely flush with the rack. That's all I was worried about...
