ProjektD Passenger Lowering Pegs and a ride update
« on: December 01, 2012, 02:14:08 pm »
Just got 'em!  Hopefully this will make my wife more comfortable to I can finally SELL THE CRUISER!  (I let the battery die because the Concours is so much fun that I have no real desire to ride the full dresser! - Yamaha Royal Star Venture).

Anyway - gonna install now and take the wifey for a ride.  Hopefully it will stop her from clunking me every time I hit the brakes, and allows her to ride more comfortably.  I think her next complaint will be the seat, but honestly, after 3000 miles of my butt on the stock seat, it's actually gotten MUCH MUCH better, to the point that I don't want to buy an aftermarket seat!  But I think she's going to have to put in some miles for the back to get comfy, so I may have to upgrade...we'll see.  :)

I have about 14,000 miles now, and with the exception of the buzzing at 3000 rpm coming from the dash, I have ZERO complaints. The PR-2's I put on in May are still in absolute great shape - and I ride fairly hard and there's no flat spots - which is pretty amazing living in South Florida where all the roads are straight and flat.  I'll get them again for sure...8k on them and I think I'm about 50% of the tread, and like I said, it's still ROUND.  The hard compound in the middle of the tire is for real.

Hope everyone's doing well, and if you're heading down to S. Florida to get away from the cold - let me know - I'd love to meet some COG folks.

Ride Safe this holiday season (if you can) and have fun!

Cya!

OK, just finished the install.  Very good.  Be careful when pulling the "Jesus clip" (e-clip)...if you push the pin all the way down, it pushes the e-clip out past the indent.  Then use a tiny flathead to gently twist and it will pop off.  (This is why they call it the "J-clip"!!!)  Keep a finger on top so it doesn't fly into the twilight zone!

I used the supplied 3m rubber to make sure there's no vibrations when it's not in use.  It depends on the die-cut if you will need it or not, and is clearly stated and illustrated in the instructions.

So my wife said she noticed the difference, and we're going for a test ride in a few.  She's asking for "floorboards"...ugh...any suggestions???
