I use a V1 in my truck. But I use an adaptive TPX on the bike. If you want to use your V1. Here's a possible way.

I use a BEL STi Driver on mine, run the audio into a mixit2 and from there into my Sena headset

I think any radar detector would work on the C14, even your V1

I have my V1 stuck to the top of my tank bag w/ Velcro, at least until I setup a mount for it, probably over the clutch reservoir.

I use my Escort S2 on my bikes and in my vehicles, I have the magnet handlebar ram mount for my bikes and it works awesome!

I also have the H.A.R.D. wireless LED light from "legalspeeding" in my helmet that flashes when my radar detector goes off, I totally recommend this set-up, works fantastic and has saved my butt sooooo many times...

My $.02 is the Escort Solo S3.  It's easy to mount since it's battery powered.  With just a little effort, you can also hard wire into the bike electrical power.  Escort are very highly rated.

You can see my mounted on my 2010 C-14 here

I've owned several V1's and now use the new Escort 9500ix.  It's much more reliable than the V1 and doesn't false alert all the time like the V1 did. It also includes a database for red light and speed cameras, has auto-sensitivity that adjusts to your speed, and an auto-lockout feature that learns and remembers the locations of things like supermarket doors and other false alerts, so it won't continue to go off for the same false alert every time you pass it. I've used a lot of detectors over the years, and I believe this is the best one currently on the market.

I have a 9500IX in the car and love it but on the bike I use the Adaptive TPX just because it's waterproof and has the LED warning flasher that I mounted on my dash where it's easily visible

Escort now makes a Passport 8500ci that is a remotely mounted detector and includes the same GPS functions as the 9500IX. It isn't cheap, ($800) but if you want a hidden remote detector, this looks like the way to go.

That is a nice system and I was considering it for the car, but not for the bike...The problem with that is that you have to have a place to mount the front receiver (usually under the front fairing since it needs a clear view) and it would look far worse IMHO then having a handlebar mounted unit.

One thing that is VERY nice about both models *(8500 and 9500) is that they both can interface with the optional laser shifters directly...  And while shifters are useless (IMHO) on a motorcycle, they work very well in a cage.....

That looks to be very nice but then you loose the ability to use it on all your bikes and cars, that's why I love the magnet ram mount...

I too use the http://www.legalspeeding.com/HARD.htm and a Passport 8500.

However, http://www.legalspeeding.com/HARD.htm is almost gone.
Those of us who liked their products now have to look for something else.

It is too bad.
Their small receiver was nice.
I hate the big one on the side of my helmet.
My Chatterbox makes it blink when I key the mic.

I use my Stalker DSR 2X. Wait thats just to make yalls radar detectors go crazy. Nothing better than sitting behind someone at a red light with a detector and putting the RADAR on hold and and active over and over again till you see them turn off the detector. Then they look in the mirror at me and I just give a friendly wave.  ^-^

When radar is used correctly by law enforcement, radar/laser detectors just let you know when you get caught (just FYI), so when you get away with speeding it's basically because the cop is being lazy and just leaving the radar or laser in continuous transmit. I get the "but my radar detector didn't go off" all the time.  :P
But the guys in the choppers or planes with the FL Highway Patrol, well they just time you across a known distance in usually marked part of roadway (they sometimes use large fixed objects/land marks), do a little math and you're caught with no warning at all.  :'(
But ya know what, it's about to get a whole lot worse, there is a laser under development for the USAF that has the ability to clock the speeds and directions of 50 targets at once indicating on a HUD display all their speeds simultaneously. The only thing keeping this out of law enforcement hands right now is it's price tag and the fact that the F-35 JSF is just a little higher on the priority list for the developer.

Stay safe y'all, and watch out for the ever increasing number of red light cameras that don't discriminate!  :motonoises:

Best in the sense of... best products for detection? best for looks of install? best for jamming?  I recently asked the question of a co-worker who has passion for for speed and speed detection technologies. He provided links to radar/laser products.  His opinion is that Laser Interceptor is undoubtedly the best laser jammer in the world. The standard dual head system is one that came recommended to me. Beltronics and Escort are the same company. Their products share many like features and technologies. Radarbusters stocks almost every radar detector and laser jammer system available as well as a host of items that aren’t available anywhere else.

One the powers that be realize how much revenue they can generate by having automated ticket issuers (and can ram it past the ACLU etc which given the money involved will happen) they will outlaw jammers (make it a jail able offense to have one) and install the auto ticket systems everywhere.

Within 20 years you will not be able to go even 1 mph over the speed limit without getting a ticket.....all hail big brother :(

Radar??!! I gotta ask if anyone caught with a radar has ever challenged it in court? They are wildly inaccurate if there are two vehicles in range!

Is that an option for you guys? Over here we changed to laser as there was 'reasonable doubt' to the accuracy.

Oh, btw, we have marked and unmarked auto detection mobile vans. 8kph over the limit and that's it!

just so some of yall know in FL we have to visually estimate your speed (+/- 5mph) also so your jammers are useless against our eyes. In Dist. 7 court where I'm from and with all the bike events and race events we have been able to win in court with just a estimation of speed when people bring us to court. When I do that I usually just write for violation of traffic control device (speed limit sign).  I haven't lost a speeding case in court in over 4 years. I am a motor officer and am in court every week so I have a very good reputation with the judges and lawyers. Most lawyers just ask to settle for no points on the DL anyways once they get to know you and trust ALL your paper work you need to present in FL.
Some of yall asking for breaks. Just so ya know I personally don't stop people until you hit 15 over on major roads and 13 over on local city street so in my opinion anything you are doing under that limit is your break. We have 5 motors in our agency ( Ormond Beach PD ) and we all follow that unwritten rule. We understand people have to have a little bit of fun! I will admit there are some agencies that will stop you at 6 over and that's just crazy. In FL you CANNOT get a speeding ticket for anything less than 6 over the speed limit unless you are in a school or construction zone where anything is fair game.

The only real winners in the Radar/Laser vs Radar/Laser detector/jammer war are the manufacturers. I was shocked to find out about 15 years ago that all the major police radar/laser manufacturers also make radar and laser detectors/jammers. They're the civil equivalent to arms dealers and make money off of both sides! These companies share parent companies or have slightly different names for the two different sales offices very much like Chevy is aka GM and Ford owns Lincoln and Mercury.

BTW, Kawicop is right on, the 9th judicial circuit (Lake, Marion, Sumter Counties FL) and the 5th judicial circuit (Orange County/ Orlando, FL area) do the same as the 7th. I have the same experience with the judges and lawyers here in Lake County. I will say that my concentration is on the crotch rocket riders that like to do 70+ in the middle of town or do stunts like hop on their front wheel at red lights to show off and/or the "Fast and Furious" wannabes in their import cars that race through downtown areas late at night. This is a growing and big problem in central FL right now. These young clowns really press their luck both safety wise and criminally. What is surprising lately I must say is just how many young girls we're catching doing this as well. This coupled with the increase in property crimes due to the economy, I find that I really do not have time to mess with anyone unless they are doing at least 15 mph above what's posted. Cameras getting put up at just about every red light now takes care of red lights, so between crime fighting and tagging super speeders, my only other worry is school zones. FHP, however, will bust your balls so I tell many people to watch out for the metermaids in the black and tans on the FL interstates.

With all this said, please take care and ride safe, my agency alone has worked 3 traffic homicides within the last month involving motorcycles and high speeds.  ???

At least in Florida the easiest way to avoid a ticket, other than not speeding :)), is treating the cop like a human. I've been pulled over by a variety of officers since I have been down here on all my bikes and have only gotten one ticket. I just pull right over, take my helmet off and get my paperwork out. There are so many scumbags down here that will either run and/or treat treat the officer like a complete weanie that when they encounter a motorcyclist that's nice they really appreciate it.

This is very true. To me anyways. A lot of times if some one admits they did the violation and so on I will try my hardest to find a non moving ticket to write or reduce the speed to only 9 over to lower the fine and points
