Just finished the install of my Rostra Cruise Control: it is AWESOME!  I wish I had it on my trip to Alaska the other year, but that just means that I have yet another excuse to go on a long road trip.  Thank to everyone who have posted information on the Forum about this frakle.  It took about 5 hours longer (10 total) than I thought it would, but I am glad I spent the time doing the work so that the drudgery of the super slab can be endured.  Also thanks to Brian for his hard work of pioneering how to attach this system to the Concours (which should have come stock and have easier fairing to remove and reinstall) for me to follow after.

I appreciated the first few pages of Brian's How-To that I printed at Murph's, but when I got to end and he said take wire a, b, c, d, etc. and hook them all to switched positive, and take wire m, n, o, p, etc. and connect them to negative, I was really happy that How-To was available. Because it simplified the wiring. The rest was pretty easy.

I moved mine over under the right side air tunnel cover, and it worked fantastic going to and coming home from, Arkansas.

Is really smooth, instant engage, instant resume, good Accel and Decel response, sees the clutch instantly, and just takes a fraction of a second to see the brake.

Its actually better than the cruise control in my car !

.... sees the clutch instantly, and just takes a fraction of a second to see the brake.

Mine is just the opposite, instant disengage with the brake, and a delay on the clutch with slight rpm rise.
Must be an adjustment somewhere on my clutch lever switch, or maybe a shim is needed.

When I had mine installed on the left side, thats how it acted. I'd pull the clutch, the rpm would go up a little, then Engage would go off. And brake was instant.

Now, I moved it as described, and changed nothing else, and it is instant on the clutch and ever so slightly, but perceptible, delayed on brake. Not enough to be remotely a problem, just an observation.

Did I mention how much Brian inspired me to install my Rostra on my 08 way back when. Thanks Brian! I believe the fore runners, the firsts, the explorers inspire us to try things we normally wouldn't.  :beerchug: Salute to the c14 pioneers.

In the absence of Brian's How-To I do not think I would ever have contemplated installing a Rostra on my bike. At all.  :great:
