Was able to take the test ride today. I've got a fully functional cruise control that works perfectly!

Where were you three weeks ago??? Install is not as difficult as it seems, time consuming but not all that hard. Especially with all the information out there on how and what to do.

I cannot speak for Matt, but I'd say it would take 10-12 hours if you had everything you needed on hand to do the install. Trips to the hardware store for this or that add up quick.

However long it takes to install it's worth it iff'n you travel.

I have a used spare that I considered putting on the KLR.

deb,
I can install in about 4-5 hours, (uninterrupted, which almost NEVER happens), now as I am quite familiar with the bikes, plastics, and connection points as well as making a custom bracket from scratch. I have everything here at the ready from numerous installs previously. No hardware store trips!

Oh I'm so close to being done!!!

Weather has been crazy around here... -25C last Saturday, +9 today and -18 predicted for next Saturday.... if that wasn't crazy enough... we just had 18 hours of on/off freezing rain.
With today's +9 I planned the whole afternoon in the garage... I'm down the clutch and the main power wire before I ran out of time.

The brake relay clicks so I'm doing something right!  LOL

Matt,
Thx for response.  I will bypass adding Rostra and the valve work since I have decided to sell the bike soon.  Think I'll be going for the F6B.

So... Derek... what's the problem?? You make it sound like it's cold or something... ;)

Seriously though, sounds like you're close! Cool...

Question is... when will the roads and the temps improve so you can try it out??
Hang in there. It's worth it!

Hopefully it won't be that long...

Now, here's a little salt for your wounds and not your roads..

It was sunny and 71 here in Tulsa today.
Tomorrow will be 73...

...easy now- don't be hatin'.

POWER ON - Check!
LIGHTS ON control pad - Check!
Into diagnostic mode - oops,  The way I mounted the control unit under the right fairing the pins and LED are pointed straight down.
UN-FASTEN control unit to see the LED - Check
Into diagnostic mode - CHECK!
PASS diagnostic mode - CHECK!

Go for a ride to test - NOPE, not yet.  Although warm(ish) out roads are very wet and still heavily sand covered so that will have to wait.  Will spend the afternoon tiding the wire harness and attaching the clutch wire.   If time I have a few other things I'm working on as well while the fairing is apart.

Thanks all...
