Run/brake rear turn signals
« on: December 18, 2012, 01:20:59 am »
Here's what I would like to do. Instead of putting additional aftermarket lights on the rear to be seen better, I'd like to have the rear turn signals light up with the tail light when the key is turned on and then brighten up with the brake light activated. Maybe also change out the orange bulbs for red ones. I've seen this done most on Harley Davidson bikes. Wondering if anyone has ever done it to their concours and how I would go about doing it? Thanks for any help.

I bought some small red led's at Pep Boys and drilled 3 small holes through the reflectors on the rear turn signals to install them. There were stock bullet plugs unused at the bike's rear electrical connector that I hooked them to for power.
Now the turn signal lenses light up red with the bike running and the amber bulbs overpower them when the turn signals are on.
Cost was less than $20.
