Russel Day Long Seat

I have a Russell Day Long seat on my 10' C14.   It has the possibility of being the perfect seat but it isn't right now.  I like sitting up higher and the wings spreading the weight out.   I bought it used last year and the condition is near new.  The problem for me with it is I am always repositioning myself backward, I slide forward.   I don't know if it is because the driver portion of the seat is too short or if  the angle of the nose that needs to be positioned upward.   Has anyone else noticed this since all their seats are modified stock seats?   I know some a customized, but they all have a similar pattern.  I'm not averse to trying to modify it myself but don't want to make it worse.   Has anyone else had any issues with their fitment and what have you done ?   I'm in Northwest Ohio and would go somewhere to get it adjusted if possible.

  Roger, I've had the Russell Day Long Seat on my 2011 Concours since May of 2012. I rode to Shasta City, CA and had the seat made while I waited. The technician took pictures of me sitting on the bike and asked my weight as well as my inseam length. The seat was custom made for me and has worked very well all these years. You might have to send the seat to them and have it customized just for you.
 You could call them and ask for a solution to your problem.

I slid forward on my 2016 oem seat.
Relaced that seat with a Sargent World Sport Perf. I slid forward on the Sargent more than the oem
The oem seat's fabric was not as "slick" as the Sargent. The oem seat was actually a good seat relative to earlier oem seats.
Purchased a LAAM seat and requested the butt-pan be 1-1/2" aft of oem seat's butt-pan.
I also requested the seat height be raised 1". I'm 73" and 34" inseam.
LAAM didn't necessarily sculpt a deeper butt-pan, sculpt meaning higher at the front (your calling it "angle of the nose")
LAAM did build the geometry so that I'm "in-the-seat" more than "on-the-seat"
LAAM offered a fabric called "asphalt" and it has a surface feel that is not as smooth as Sargent's carbon fiber look fabric

Moving the butt-pan aft and fabric selection solved my sliding forward issue. I think the fabric is secondary but should be considered.
