seat?????
« on: December 02, 2017, 11:23:02 pm »
So I finally got to get a good ride in today on my new to me 2013! 200 miles! I realized that i dont need to lower the bike. I need a lower seat height. My question is who makes a good lowered seat?? I was looking at the Sargent seat and the Corbin ( both with the little compartment. I was also thinking of Mean City Cycles. I'm looking for height and comfort ( i am, like many here, and Iron Butt rider too). TIA!

Get hold of Seth Laam. He will build what you want at a reasonable price. Mine is 1" lower than stock.

This is Terry's picture gallery. Any idea how his prices compare to Laam? I like my Baldwin but someday might need a new seat.

I was seriously thinking the same thing when I got mine. Also a 2013. But over time and many miles my seat seems to have gotten broke in to be more comfortable and some what lower. I may still cutout some padding but just not as necessary right now.

I recently priced having my V Strom seat done at Terry's. Solo seat was quoted at $250.00, dual seat was $450.00. I've heard good things about them.

I'm getting mine redone at Russell Day Long. A bit more expensive, but everyone that has em has nothing but great things to say about them!
Best,

He is usually pretty busy, and takes a month to finish. I'm planning to go have my Concours seat in September during RWTW.
He did my R1 seat and I love it.

After my last post of my seat being a priority, lol, I go and purchase one. Oh well. Will not keep track of this purchase either.
