Title: Seat Question (Lower) Is it really lower (Sargent)
Post by: Wolverine on May 26, 2018, 03:21:11 am
I need about 1 inch to feel comfortably  seated on my 09, Does the World Sport Performance Seat
Low Version make any difference? The Sargent sites shows the low version is about 1.3 inches lower than stock

Looking at lowering brackets and adjustable kickstand but figure hey the stock seat is tired, if I could gain the same with a lower seat I would go that way

I have a Sargent Low and I can't say how much lower it is, but I can say that it's a noticeable amount lower than the stock seat.

I too had the seargent low. The stock is just a bit sketchy for me but the low was perfect height. It just wasnt terribly comfortable.

I had a Sargent low for 6-8 months. Neither me nor my wife felt it was comfortable. Wife (as passenger) felt the stock seat was more comfortable ... and that's sad. But we all know everyone's different so what does not work for one may work for another just fine. A bike seat, for sure, is one area where we can't really go based on another's opinion.

I had a Sargent low. It was hard. I now have a Seth Laam and he built it an inch lower than stock. Better option. Have you looked into lower links? Works great. Now I'm two inches lower.

Corrected here! Brain fart...

I've had the Sargeant low version and now have the Seth Lam low variety. The Sargeant was a little more comfortable for me but the Lam is better according to my wife. I'm not overly tall myself and the difference in height was very noticeable. I may send mine back in to Lam for some softer foam. If it's not too late maybe tell him to make it softer than Troys. I have a couple thousand miles on it now and it's still just too stiff.

I just bought an 08 and need to lower it about 2".  Where did you find the lowering links?  TIA,  Bill

Installed the Sargent today, the price was right for the Memorial day sale.

Observations;

yes it is lower and makes me feel more confident on the bike at stops (combined with the TRex links)
Yes it is a bit harder than stock

Only got about 65 miles on it and it caused no pain or discomfort, time will tell
