Smoke Windshield
« on: September 15, 2011, 02:33:44 am »
I'm looking for a windshield that is the stock shape/size or very close to it but that is dark smoke.  This is a purely cosmetic modification I want to make.  Does anyone know of a manufacturer that makes these?

Not in stock size and shape. I know that Cee Bailey's makes smoke color Shields. But it won't be exactly the same as OEM. And others have tinted or painter the back side of their shields.

You  can get the MRA Vario shield in dark smoke, it is the same size as the stocker, but it has a spoiler on top, great shield too

Here is a link to more pictures:

I like the looks of the MRA but not the spoiler and honestly don't need it. Is that same exact shield available without the spoiler? Tried looking on the net but did not even see that shield available for our bikes. If someone could point me the right direction in a note to me personally as well I would appreciate it since I won't be on here for a few days and honestly I may forget to check this thread.....LOL

Twisted throttle carries the MRA Vario shields. IIRC, Jerry bought his there. So they must carry the shield.

Why not get a stock shield tinted at the local tint shop?

Cal Sci also has a tinted shorty that is very cool and sporty.  I just got one along with the clear large.

I think that's a good idea, just like having your car windows done, should be a pretty cheap option...

That is a good idea.  Two more questions - Is the factory windscreen from 08-09 shorter than the 10-11?  Will a screen from the 08-09 fit properly on a 2011?

The tint will not stick and you'll get bubbles, at least according to the tint shop I went to.
