What rack do you have out back?

It's one I bought from ProjektD that I thought I'd use for a base for the Corbin 70 liter trunk...  ???

But I ended up having Phil make me a kickass custom setup for that trunk, so I think I might sell it, you interested GP? If so, shoot me a pm...  :beerchug:

Hi ZG.   Put mine back on about a month ago.  We were in the 90's already.
Went on a 370 mile round trip thru the local high country with some buddy's
Yesterday.     Temps ranged from 45 down to 39 degs at one point.
Oh yeah, and RAIN!     Yes......my friends were laughing.
We call them weather guessers here in Arizona.   :rotflmao:
Good thing I always bring extra gear.
Still a good time!    :great:

All I ever owed was sport type bikes, and never did any real traveling because of the wind issue, I will NEVER be a iron butt rider, give me a conversion van (I'm working on a Sprinter conversion van now) I've pulled my bike over and laid on the ground countless times for the same reason.
But don't get me wrong I use the Copperdawg around town , short sprints on the highway , but If I have to spend over one hour above 60mph a taller windscreen is going on.
I'm not into self abuse ;D

Got a copperdawg sport screen. I LOVE IT! At first above 65 miles an hour the air was a bit much.  I experimented a little with raising the shield to different heights.  I raised the shield to about position 2 and it's perfect for me. Still get great airflow without feeling like your getting blown off the bike.  I have done 300 mile rides so far and loving it. I think even with the shield raised an inch it still looks a hell allot better than a stock or aftermarket windshield.

Yes, if you go all day at 60+ mph with that Copperdawg you are going to be upset with it. Its basically the same wind stream as on a sportbike, but you are sitting up more. Having ridden a real sport bike fairly recently, I can say for myself that the turbulence every time I came out of tuck was very annoying.

I have a CalSci XL Wide, and of course its great in cooler weather, but when its all the way down, a good bit of relatively smooth air comes over it. Then since when it warms up I turn my Baker's out to route air over my legs and waist, I get plenty of air but little turbulence.

Maybe I should take 6 pictures of the CalSci from every angle and post them here, since nobody would know what it looks like from a single picture?  :rotflmao: :nananana:

To each his own I guess, but I have never found the CopperDawg screen to be attractive.  She's just too big of a girl for such a small screen.

Maybe if she lost 200 lbs, but if that's what you're looking for, just go buy a crotch rocket and be done with it....IMHO.

I switched out my winter Cal Sci shield today for my summer shield: a stocker for an '08.

Aaa ah!!  Cool air!   Gotta wear ear plugs now, though. Wind noise with the low shield. But the wind feels good!

Those are Top Block Racing sliders (tip over protection), although I have used them for brief periods as HWY pegs to stretch out the legs a bit...  :great: :beerchug:

If you're in reasonable shape, the CopperDawg screen shouldn't strain your neck... IF you have the stock bars. With barbacks, then I guess maybe yes. I've been waiting for my CopperDawg for months (even bought all screen parts required for my 2015 weeks ago), but still no green paint available :(. I will use it year-round. As somebody said, if the windblast is a bit much, it has electric adjustment. Might not be enough to clear rain above your helmet, but certainly to control windblast to a reasonable level. And yes, in bright colors like red and green, maybe not as attractive as it could have been. But certainly better than stock. My stock windscreen with that ugly vent I'll never use (only functional with screen fully raised. Or close to that) offers too much wind protection for my tastes, even all the way down. I much rather have more wind, but CLEAN air that doesn't bother my ears even with 33dB earplugs.

Went on vacation this last week. Left Springfield,Ohio and ended up in Winter haven, Florida. I LOVE this copperdawg sports screen.  Rode 400 to 500 miles a day.  Under 70mph lower it all the way. Over 70mph raise it an inch or maybe a little more.  I did a ride last year with a c-bailey ultra and hated it. No air even down all the way.

Wind noise is no different  than riding a sportbike. No head buffeting.  I do use fit-ear stereo buds most of the time connected to my sena smh-10 headset. When not wearing those then it's ear plugs. I have ridden in temps down to 45 degrees with this shield with my heated jacket liner and a leather jacket.  I do find when it's colder I do have to raise the shield a bit more than when it's hot. That is to be expected though.

It might not be for everyone, But I really like it. Made my trip much more enjoyable. Last year I did a similar trip. Springfield, Ohio to Ft. Walton beach, Florida by way of Kingsport,Tenn and Warner Robbins, Ga.  I was using a C-Bailey euro-tour screen.  I was either burning up with the screen up or my head was buffeting with it all the way down, and still burning up.

I always wear ear plugs but even then I still get buffetting and wind noise...just the way it is when you start bending air.   Hope to test the no-screen thing in a couple weeks when I can.   Appreciate the info. :great:
