I like the looks of the black can better than the chrome one. Can you post a photo like the last one, only with the bags removed?

That looks very nice. I think that the black looks better on a dark bike. But if it was the silver, it may look better in chrome.

I'm sure it sounds great but it looks like the stock exhaust with a polished tip and V&H sticker added.
I'll bet it weighs less though.

Very nice!!  8)

Keep us posted on how the chrome tip holds up over time with some rain, etc.  There have been a few reports of the tip getting "stained" with rain spots, etc.  I also saw one on an 08 for sale at a local dealer that was looking pretty rough.

Congrats on your new CS1. I installed one shortly after getting my new Connie, you will love the performance and the sound is awesome along with a weight savings, it's great.

Fred, here you go.  Let me know what you think.  Just got back from a 200+ mile ride with my wife.  Love the pipe.  I will however be putting a 1 and 5/8 insert in when it arrives Monday or Tuesday.  It is quite a bit louder than the stock pipe, but not that bad in my opinion.  The insert should help.

That seat and can (no pun intended) both look great on your bike. It looks better without the bags!

I really like how the exhaust ends at the back of the bags and that the tip appears to follow the lines of the bags.  Agree with Bob that the black looks good on a dark bike.

That is also one of the reasons I like it as well.  Most of the other ones, once installed, aren't parallel with the bottom of the bag.  I like the way the CSOne follows the lines of the bag.

I've got a set of ZX-14 headers coming my way soon, the black CSOnes are top contenders for what the final look might be.

Very nice! I like to looks of the pipe on your bike. I've purchased the chrome one for my silver bike and it should be here next week.

Looks great Larry :beerchug: Did you use any sealant or pipe tape on the install?

Thanks,
Jay

Yes..Ok all, have installed the 1 and 5/8 insert in the CSOne and it seems quite a bit quieter, although not as quiet as stock.  Just started it in the garage but haven't gotten a chance to take it out on the road.  Will let you know when I do.

This is how Kawasaki should have made the bike in the first place.

Larry...  I know this thread is old, but I'm wondering how you like the VH muffler with the insert installed?  How's the sound compare - with and without the insert?

Thanks!

I have a V&H that I bought used. It came with different size inserts. Sound does decrease some with each smaller size. I actually use largest opening insert. Keeps the sound a little more mellow. I never flashed my ecu but I don't really notice the popping which some claim. Not sure if the inserts keeps a little more back pressure or what but I really like it when you twist the throttle makes it more of a SPORT tourer imo.
Sound isn't bad for normal cruising.

I was told you had to flash the ECU or get a popping sound.  Is there anyone having that problem..  If so how did the clear it up and where did the get there ECU done. I am getting the VH exhaust also..

No popping on decel for me.  Have about 500 miles on mine now.  Contemplating one of the inserts to make it just a tad more quiet, but not sure yet.  Going to probably run it as is thru the summer and then decide.  I have noticed, however, that my idle speed has increased slightly - maybe 100-200 rpm.  Really like the look.

No insert for me and I do get some popping on decel, not that bad and no worse than any other bike I've ever had a non-stock exhaust on.

Anyone got a pic of the inserts? My bike came with the CS One, but is a bit loud for my taste and those who usually ride behind me. I don't know what the inserts look like, where they go or how to know what (if any) is already in  the pipe? Thanks.

The VH can looks great.

But remember guys these are sold in Europe -and- California where the enviroweenies have dictatorship control over vehicle emissions law.

Its not really KAW's fault that their stock can is so huge.

the insert is the round opening at the back of the pipe, that sleeve looking piece , they make many different size opening ones.
mine is the large stock one that came with the cs1

I wonder why some get deceleration pops after just putting a slip on in place of the stock muffler.

Over on the ZX14 forum, many put slip ons in place of stock, and none needed a PCV or flash, nor did they need air injection plugs. They didn't get deceleration pops either.

Wonder what the difference is?

When I put the Brock's Performance full CT-Duals exhaust system on my ZX14, I had no choice but to put a PowerCommander on and plug the air hole (plug provided by Brock). Even then I got deceleration pops until Jeffo did me a map with accelerator pump values that got rid of the deceleration pops pretty much. She still burbled big time under hard deceleration, just few if any pops.

My C14 has a flash and I get a few popping sounds on decell with the CS1. I have the insert in and its nice and quiet for me. Just a bit more than stock.

My ZX14 with the Akro slips on always had a single pop with a small flame that could be seen at night. Even stock ECU and with flies out and then added PC5. Since the most recent re-flash I have not noticed any pop.

Can I ask which insert? There seems to be a variety of them to choose from.

They don't come with an insert any more.  Only sold separtely, in several diameters.

Yup, I was asking if you knew which diameter insert you were using. I don't want to buy all of them in order to decide which I like.

Interesting, my CS1 has a small bolt on inside of the can near the tip,  what its holding? To me it looked like and insert, but maybe not? Now you make me want to look!  :beerchug:

Maybe it holds the chrome tip on the can?

I have silencers in the ZX14 akros that slip in and are secured with a small 5mm bolt

Not sure if this is the exact one for the C14, as there are quite a few styles from VH.

I see nothing like that on my CS1 I bought months ago. I do think its just a bit louder than stock in most cases, although wind it up and get on it it does get louder, but I like it!!! Not so loud to disturb my neighbors when I LV for work in a few minutes.
